Home of the "Lost Pines" of east central Texas, this fascinating park brings the wilderness to the state capital's doorstep..
In Short
Over 3,000 acres of hardwoods, including the well-known "Lost Pines," an isolated timbered region of loblolly pine and other trees, make up this vast and beautiful wilderness park near Austin. A 10-acre lake provides great fishing or swimming. Facilities include restrooms with showers and picnic sites. Camping sites range from campsites with water to lodges, group barracks, a dining hall and a swimming pool. There are backpack areas along an 8.5-mile hiking trail.
