Nasty.
Place had a wierd smell, dishes where crusty and the food was all bad, meat tasted just like it was cooked in microwave, even the two salads we could not eat, shrimp plate they were like rubber and bad tast.
Food has really took a noise dive from 2yrs ago, when it was pretty good. Will never be going back now and when be got our bill for five with tip is was $120 bucks and no drinks from the bar
Big portions of mainstream American fare, served up in a convivial, family atmosphere..
In Short
A low-key, friendly environment attracts plenty of families to this reliable chain. Kids in the big booths--often clutching free balloons and crayons--usually outnumber adults sitting at the bar. The menu offers filling American fare with no surprises, from mozzarella sticks and nachos to rollups and burgers. Entrees include steaks, fajitas and main dish salads. The calorie-conscious can select from a list of Weight Watchers-inspired dishes like mesquite chicken salad and grilled tilapia with mango salsa.
Very Poor Service.
The wait staff service was atrocious. The girl acted as if she didn't have a clue what she was doing, The food was lukewarm to cold. At one point, a plate of chicken fried chicken was served to one of our party who ordered chicken fried steak, and when this was mentioned to the wait staff, her reply was, "It's the same thing." Uh, no. Chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak are not the same thing.
The topper was when some random young man came to our table, interrupted our conversation, and gave us a spiel about needing donations for a trip he (and his group) wanted to take for some sort of retreat. At first I thought he was one of the waiters. I asked him if he was an employee. He said no. I asked him if the restaurant management had given him permission to approach customers' tables to troll for donations. He said they had given permission for this. That was when I decided that there would be a zero-sum tip for Applebees, and informed the troll that his interruption of a private conversation to ask for donations was rude and asked him to leave our table.
I will never return to that restaurant. "Customer Service" is glaringly absent at that establishment.
Tough Steak. I wanted the rib eye but the server suggested the NY strip steak. So I agreed with him and ordered the NY strip steak. I felt like a butcher spending most of my time trying to trim the silver skin and fat. Go with the ribeye or learn from me and go to a steakhouse if you want a steak
Friendly Staff!. There was this great host. I think his name is Mike? Anyway, he was so cordial and he made me feel really welcome! Then I had a server who was really sweet. Some great service! And the Tostada Chicken Salad was great.
friendly service. when i went to applebees the other day, i had the best service i have ever had at any restaurant. i sat in the bartender davids section and took awesome care of me. ive been there before and it is always good food, but david made my last experience one to remember. i recommend you go and see for yourself. id also recommend asking for davids section if he is there-
