Great Course just north of Austin. Keep the driver in the bag or you'll end up in the forest or the creek. Great course, fun to play and always in great shape.
1st rate public golf course. Great condition, layout and service. A must play if you're in the area...
Tough course, good value. I usually play from the blues, and at almost a 72 rating for a 6500 yard course, you can guess you are going to have to keep it in play. You need control off the tee, and I hit 4 iron off almost every par 4 and one par 5. If you don't hit it straight, but hit it pretty far, you will probably hate this course, because it takes away that advantage! There are about 4 holes where you really have to hit driver off the tee, even though there is not much room for error. It's a great course for the value, and I always find myself choosing Forest Creek whenever I play golf. It forces me to try to put it in play at the sacrifice of distance.
Awesome Experience!!!. I was in Austin attending a conference last week and managed to secure two tee times before a tournament outing for Ford Company. Needless to say, the staff was extraordinary friendly (they even honored an online coupon misprint and we all paid $25 for our outing). The marshal was extremely friendly and never rushed us during our play. The course is in great shape and the greens were lighting fast, which made for some tough putts. Without question, Forest Creek is a great bargain while in the Austin area !!!!!!
Tough course, tougher staff!!!!!.
I read some of the old reviews here but since then there must've been a change in management. The staff, especially the starters/marshalls are incredibly rude. I was playing on a Saturday with some friends. We were playing about 10 minutes off "schedule". I will remind you, we are not bad golfers, we were not searching for lost ProV's and we were not doing anything but enjoying a saturday at the course. Heck, we weren't even drinking!! When we came around #7 the marshall told us to hurry up or we'd have to skip a hole. SKIP A HOLE?? Are you kidding me? There were people on the next hole. How do we skip?? Did he want us to play with them? I've golfed for 26yrs and nobody has ever asked me to SKIP a hole. I disregarded his comment and TRIED to have fun but at that point our group of 3 was feeling rushed. NOT FUN. THEN, on number 14 the same marshall came up and as I was going to tee off, he asked us to pick up my ball, drive to the middle of the fairway and DROP my ball in the center. Yes, you heard me right! I hadn't lost a ball all day until this joker made this request. I told him I was not going to do as he asked. The rest of our day was ruined. So, if you're thinking about playing Forest Creek you should think again.
Here is my dilemma. I've taken lessons from an incredible instructor there. Mr. Paul Leonard will work wonders with your game. Great golf teacher and a better human being.
Will I go back? Yes, for lessons!
A country club golfing challenge open to the public..
In Short
The initial wonder of this course, which opened in 1991, was its forest-like setting. Although residential development has taken care of some of that this course in Round Rock, features an 8,000-square foot putting green, a practice green with two greenside bunkers and a three-tiered driving range. It also includes water hazards in play and about 60 sand bunkers. Other amenities include beverage cart, snack bar and a beer only bar.

Ok. Nice course. Tight fairways on many holes require you to keep the ball in play. Too pricey though. I've played several times on different days and times. Many open tee times are available. Can't help but think the price structure keeps most golfers or would be golfers away.
A Must Play. A well-designed and beautifully maintained golf course. Had to use every club in my bag for this one.
Tough for public linx!. A long and difficult GC with none or few bail out areas. Don't play this course if you have less than your B game because you will lose balls and get frustrated! Gotta hit it straight and be able to place the ball with precision to be able to score!
Course in great shape.... played out at Forest Creek 2 weeks ago, and the course is playing very nice. Greens have come in from the aeration and are rolling true. If you haven't been to their website, definitely go. They have great specials every day of the week.
