Warning - $2k up front fee for high-priced system - can't afford to build it - NO REFUND

Mr. Cain designed a very expensive septic system requiring a high-priced component that requires a perpetual yearly maintenance contract. He requested his fee up front, and would not refund even a portion of the fee after being told that I would not use his design because of the system?s installed cost. In effect I was charged for design, permitting, and oversight, but received only a design that was not feasible from a cost perspective.
I hired a professional engineer to design a lower-cost system ($10,000 lower, in fact) that was lower maintenance and did not require a maintenance contract.
I would not recommend Mr. Cain if you are seeking a low maintenance, low cost septic solution. I would also recommend against paying in advance.

- Cons: Demanded fee up front. Designed expensive system. No refund even though permit and construction support not provided.
