In Short
Restaurant operated by the same owners since the mid-'70s offers a full American-style menu, featuring fajitas, steak, pasta, fish, and vegetarian specialties. Great hamburgers and chicken fried steak are a trademark. Made-from-scratch desserts range from sinfully delicious chocolate cheesecake to homestyle buttermilk pie and fat-free angel food cake with fresh strawberries.

Grins (originally Jon Bones & Hamburgers) has been a popular spot with the college/progressive San Martian crowd for over 30 years. The menu has expanded over the years but the draw is still the incomparable onion rings and the great burgers (the guocomole is a magnificent mess). Located in an old house with a deck on a hill behind the university (always SWT to me). Excellent location, staff and food. A classic college hang out with a laid back atmosphere.

Grins offers a wide variety of food and everything I have tried is good and I have frequented the place for over 27 years. Also a good place for happy hour -- drinks are good.
