great food great beer great service. I always like it at the Tap Room. Its good atmosphere, the food is pretty good, and they have a great selection of beer. The staff is pretty friendly. And it is FREEZING in there! Which could be good or bad.

My Favorite Bar EVER. In a time that feels long ago, I was a Tap Room regular. The bartenders still remember me and my favorite drink to this day. While many of the bars on the square have undergone changes to stay hip and new, Tap Room has remained consistent and true to its strengths: Warm Atmosphere, Friendly service, Well Poured Drinks, Great Food.

I'm definitely surprised that there aren't at least a hundred 5 star reviews for this place, especially since I know countless close friends that have literally called this place home for the last few years. I can't think of another place that truly treats its patrons like family. By far my favorite bar in Texas.

Filthy Restroom. I am a SWT alumnus that has many fond memories of the Tap Room, but after my last visit I don?t think I will ever go back.

I was in town for a wedding and stopped by after several years away and was utterly disgusted by the bathroom. Now I work in a Bar and I realize that they can get messy on a busy night, but this wasn?t normal busy night dirty bathroom, this was full on hadn?t been cleaned in Weeks bathroom. There was mold growing in the toilet bowl, and caked on dirt in the Sink. I've been in Bachelor pads that had cleaner bathrooms. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is.

The topper was that after requesting to speak to the manager, he dismissed my concerns and really seemed bothered that I would make a suggestion that they keep the restrooms a little cleaner.

I don?t think I will be eating there anytime soon.

Wrong review. I never went here, thought it was a different bar. Can't erase that review so I changed it to this.

Best Burger and a Beer hands down. As a resident of San Marcos for 4 years and an alumni of SWT, I have to say that the Tap Room has the best burgers in town! It's a toss up for me between the queso burger or the mushroom swiss burger.

The Tap Room offers the largest selection of imported and domestic beers in town, and features a Beer of the Month special. The 1940s-style bar is perfect for hanging out, but table service is also available. Rich, dark , warm and full of Old World atmosphere, the bar is a favorite for downtowners, locals, visitors and students alike. They have a full bar menu including mouthwatering baby back ribs, burgers and appetizers. Happy hour is weekdays from 3pm to 7pm.
