It's definitely an amusement bar!.
Lots of new restaurants and venues have been popping up since my San Marcos exit. As fun as they are, they will never have the San Marcos tone I remember and all of the memories I've accumulated in that town. I have no idea how many hours I spent at Showdown: The Amusement Bar in the duration of my college career and that thought is now making me a little uncomfortable so let's focus in on a more happy nostalgia shall we?
I love that there is an upstairs and two back rooms. I love that there is a jukebox that everyone is constantly slinging quarters into. I love that if someone picks a bad song, the bartenders turn it off and make fun of that person in a microphone. I love all the vintage crap hanging from the walls and ceiling. I love the two pool tables old-school arcade game, and Pacman table. And I certainly love the BLOODY MARYS.
This place is awesome, so yes, run, don't walk.
