Tips for Saltgrass Steak House

Cheap price, cheap food. They say you get what you pay for, and that is soooo true at Saltgrass. I have never been more dissapointed in a steak than I was here. The meat was tough and flavorless, the air had an odor, and the service was uppity. There are so many excellent restaurants in Austin, why waste your time and money at this one?

Don't Know What the Hater's Are Talking About. Excellent Food and Service. We have been there numerous times and each one has been awesome. The food is great. The steak is always juicy and there are plenty of sauces to choose from, but you will not need them. The portions are huge and the appetizers are some of the best I have had. When we want good steak this is where we come.

Just Another Chain (yawn...). If you like Saltgrass I'm sure you'll love Golden Corral, Texas Roadhouse, Logans, etc. With so many unique joints to eat in in this area why would anyone eat here? Thankfully there are several hotels next door in case you fall asleep halfway through dinner.

Just another chain restaurant. Service-BAD...Food-BAD....Atmosphere-LAME. This is just another chain restaurant. If you want a great steak, go to a unique reataurant, not a chain...there actually are a couple in Round Rock....to get a great steak, be willing to pay a little more and research first!!

Down to Earth. My boyfriend & I go there often because he says he has to "get his Saltgrass on." No other steak house will do when he is craving a good steak & ribs. I love their fried shrimp & ribeye. The flavor is the best & so is the service!

Great Prime Rib. I think this particular Saltgrass has some of the best prime rib I've tasted. Yes, I know all Saltgrass should be the same....but???

My wife doesn't eat Prime Rib, so she ordered the Rib Eye Steak (Med-Well) and did an excellant job.

For a special treat, order the margaritta swirl with mango - it was darn good!

My teenage daughter order the BBQ Baby Back Ribs and she claims it was the best she's tasted.

Ok, I went at 6pm and there was a long wait to get seated, but it was worth the wait!

Don't spend your money.. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our salad and almost another hour for our food to reach our table. They don't know how to cook a well done steak! They had to take mine back not oncce but twice and when it came out the last time it was still pink. Our poor waiter was swamped in his section that he was frazzled and kept telling us how sorry he was and bringing us bread. I feel we wasted our money because I had to leave hungry. oh well, we won't go back.

Great Steaks and Nice Ambience!. The Saltgrass at I-35 was a great experience. We had Ribeyes and Pork Chops and everything came the way it was ordered and it was delicious.

The service was good and the waitress checked on us every few minutes even though the restaurant was packed.

I probably will go back there on a special occasion since the prices are reasonable, but it is still alot money for a dinner.

We only were 3 person and I even would go there with a group of up to 6 person. Everything above that I rather go to UR cooks.

great food and service. Last week was our first visit there. Despite the mixed reviews we had heard, our waiter provided excellent service and earned his tip. We had the prime rib and filet mignon and both were cooked perfectly as ordered. The only thing we noticed that needed improvement was the wine pouring; the waitstaff needs to be educated on the proper procedure for serving wine. Other than that, all was delicious and we will definitely be back!
