In Short – If you don't mind a little noise, the casual, open-kitchen setting, replete with faux-rustic stone walls, wooden peasant-style seating and piped-in Sinatra nicely sets the tone for a broad, Southern Italian-inspired menu. The requisite Italian chain-restaurant favorites are consistent and inexpensive. The combo, hearty spaghetti/lasagna/chicken Parmesan sampler, and the Skilletini, an Italian-style stir-fry of spicy sausage, chicken and pasta, are the house specialities.

Editor's Tips

Save Time:
Curbside To Go is a unique carry-out feature allowing customers to pull into a designated area at an appointed hour.
What to Drink:
High-value house wines are available, in addition to surprisingly solid, low-priced popular California and imported varietals.
The Extras:
There's a full bar in a separate area that you may also dine in; the private dining rooms are suitable for groups from a dozen to 35 or more. Catering is also available.

The worst Italian restaurant in Round Rock

by joe54 at Citysearch

I got to the restaurant after reading some of the great reviews here, I was terribly disappointed. The house salad was one of the worst I have had, the Salmon was not fresh and overcooked, to cover for that fact it was heavily glazed the pasta was over-coocked as well. Both the salad and salmon had way too much salt on them.

I will never go back to Carino's

Part I Bad Service, lack of honesty

by Eddie09 at Citysearch

I had lunch last Friday the 2nd of Jan., Nelson was my server, 'he looked inexperience at first , by not greeting us and going straight to take our order, I asked for the Calamari, Garlic Shrimp and a kids Pizza to start, I requested the kids meal to beASAP, after 6-8 minutes of our apps arriving we order 2nd course, once the second course in the table my kids pizza was still missing, I asqued the server and he seem surprised about it, I recall his words:the kitchen makes too many mistakes too often, and I wont charge you for the pizza, we gave some of our pasta to our children and suddenly the server brings the check, (40.+cents) I requested the pizza to be on a to-go, he took my card and brought back my charge for 45.+cents) I requested to see the original check , he said that he closed the check and was unable to reprint, anyway, a guest is requesting his check!, i tough maybe he charge me a % of tips judging me as bad tipper as a reflect of his bad service witch I don?t, I ask him why the check was for a different amount and he denied any change of the amount, he finally brought the check after me requesting for a manager, he charge me the "on the house" kids pizza, it was obvious the lack of honesty of this employee, poor management, never during my dining experience a manager stop by to say hello, only at the end of my meal to say, yes! I would take care of your entire check, too late, keep the pizza and I'am paying for my meal to make sure I neve come back.Chain restaurants should be thanking each and every guest for choosing them for their lunch or dinner, and instead of writing themselves grate fake reviews as you can see one 5 star every bad review, they should attack the problem, very bad trainning program, dishonest employees (need strict hiring process) and managers should be out in the "Field" less time in the office. We want and deserved good service, your service is very bad, and as I mention before, there's a lot of competition, get a grip.

  • Pros: many other choices around, (Better I mean)
  • Cons: service is bad

VERY loud restaurant. Difficult to carry on a conversation in here. Food is alright but definately not authentic italian food. I reccomend Ginos italian food over this.

  • Cons: Loud, Crowded, Not Good Service

Never been disappointed here

by Sunshine513 at Citysearch

We have eaten here several times and never been disappointed. They offer family meals, which for us has actually fed more than the menu listed. Their Sicilian Fire Sticks appetizer is the bomb! We order it every time we're in here. We like everything we've tried on the menu so far. We haven't tried any dessert as of yet because we've been to full for it. We enjoy eating at this restaurant and are repeated customers.

  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: Nothing

Not bad

by KitchenEval at Citysearch

I was surprised since I don't usually enjoy chain restaurants. The food was good and the wait staff attentive. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees--mine came out a little late but worth the wait and the staff was apologetic. Clean but a little loud.

  • Pros: Food and service
  • Cons: A little loud
