Steak wasnt as good as other Ruths Chris Ive been to.
The steak wasnt made as well as other Ruths Chris I had been to and the service was not very good.
The steak took forever to come out and then was not as I ordered it. I will not be eating at this Ruths Chris again.
The steak was not worth the money.
The steak was overcooked and tasteless. I dont mind paying for a good steak, but when I have to pay for A+ when I get a F that is pitiful.
The wait staff was nowhere to be found when you needed anything, I had to get up and look for them and ask them to come to table twice, otherwise who knows how long I would have to wait, it pissed me off.
I will never eat at this place again
Expensive and disappointing... I won't return.... My friend and I were looking forward to a nice evening out and since I had never been to Ruth Chris'.. we decided to indulge. What a disappointing experience. The salad was good, I ordered the Fillet well done and my friend the Rib Eye medium well. Mine was delivered as rare, my friend's was tough. I sent mine back, in the mean time my friend was trying to wait, but I told him to eat, so it wouldn't get cold. I got my steak back and it was burnt on the outside and pink on the inside. It came back by the time my friend had finished. The manager came over and comped my portion of the meal, and said that the next cut would be perfect. I took it home, and when I cut through it at home, it was pink again.. I called the manager back to let him know, and he told me it was the kitchen manager's night off. Needless to say, I won't be back.. Too many other steak places in Austin that will do a good job,...
Amazing steaks and great service. My husband and I just went to Ruth's Chris last night to have a really nice date night. We were looking forward to a great steak and a nice bottle of wine, they did not disapoint. We strted off with the Oysters Roccofeller, which were good. I have only had them once before and thought they were just as good. We then had a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, the wedge portion was HUGE and the dresing was great. My only issue was that they did not put enough dressing on the salad, but out server noticed right away and brought xtra without even being asked. Then came the highlight of the meal, I had the bone in cowboy ribeye and my husband has the NY strip. They came out sizzling in a small pool of butter and smelled divine. Keep in mind that you will probublly want to order your steak slightly under done since they continue to cook on the plate. My steak was crispy on the outside and perfectly done and juicy on the inside. We had the potatos au gratin and creamed spinach for sides. I find at any steak house thier steaks are what they are known for, the sides were good, but if you are looking for the best potatos or creamed spinach you have even had, don't go to a steak house. I ordered the bread pudding for desert and was disapointed, but considering the meal we just had it was a good thing it wasn;t to good becuase i didn't have much room left anyway! Our server was great and perfectly attentive, she new when we needed her and when to keep her distance. We were also pleasently surprised when we recieved the bill that it wasn't as high as we expected!! I would recommend eating here to anyone.
Don't bother.
If you want superior food, service and ambiance, go to Joe DiMaggio's at the Domain. The prime grade ribeye is far superior as are the ambiance, service and attention at Joe DiMaggio's.
Ruth's Chris was a tremendous let down. We had to wait 30 minutes beyond our reservation time before being seated with no apology offered. The ribeye and lobster were both overcooked. The apple crumb tart dessert was dry. The creme brulee lacked creaminess.
The crab cake appetizer, sauteed mushroom and sweet potato sides were delicious but weren't enough to make up for the substandard service and entrees.
What a waste.
What a sad waste of money.
We were very disapointed in the quality of food here.
Reputation can only float a place so long.
Great place others don't know what they are talking about. 12/26/08 was a Friday night so pootron must have been making this up. He said he ate on a Saturday night. I dined at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on 12/27/08 and was the best steak I have ever had. I had the bone in ribeye and it was amazing. The service was prompt and casual not stuffy like Perry's. I would diffenantley fo back.
Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides..
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
Our 16-yr old makes a better steak!!!!!! Won't go back!. Honestly I struggle between 2 and 3 stars. We really had high hopes for our dinner at Ruth's Chris but were sadly disappointed. The meat was basically flavorless - our 16 yr old could have made a better steak! Seasoned with only salt and pepper - just blah! I have to agree with another posting about the au gratin potatoes - cheap cheese, no seasoning - the only saving grace was the salt/pepper we added at the table. Salad was basic - nothing special - just a basic salad you could get at any lower priced restaurant for a heck of a lot less. Our waiter was good but overall the service was nothing to brag about. Certainly not what you would except for this caliber restaurant. The ancillary wait staff served and removed our food from the incorrect side, in fact reached across the table from the other direction to remove dirty plates. The table itself was never cleaned of crumbs throughout our entire meal. We did get plenty of water served though! The somewhat rushed atmosphere made it feel much more like a semi fast food restaurant which was another thing that made the experience disappointing. Our waiter knew we were disappointed and mentioned it to the manager who expressed his concern and did comp us for one dinner. That was nice but it just doesn't make up for such a disappointing experience....we won't go back EVER.
There is difference between "fine dining" and "expensive dining". My hubby had fond memories of Chicago and Huston and had wanted to take me out for a specail diner. This was not it. Louie tried, bless his heart, you can't blame the wait staff for dirty knives and horrid food they just get stuck on the front line. We came away with this. The meat was cooked perfectly and the wine Louie recomended was great. Go in order a plate of meat and some wine and call it a done deal ,because the extras are only little more than a step up from a sorority house schwan man delivery. When did a few roamain leafs with a drizzle of some flavour void oil become a Ceaser salad? When did a few canned musssshy potatoes with greasy cheap cheader become Potatos Augratin? Mushrooms? Turn a few ,again flavourless, white button mushrooms over in some melted butter and serve al dente? Shame on you Ruth's Chris for calling this flavourless stuff "fine dining" We actually brought a doggie bag home for our dog. She loved the meat but agreed with us on the potatos and mushrooms.
