They Don't Know What A Torte Is. Hard to imagine but the staff didn't know what a torte was, so I took that to mean they don't make them. The pastery chef should fear for all of us with his team in this inept state.

One block from starbucks, but a LOCAL original!. Sweetish Hill in the San Jacinto tower is a friendly, local convenience. The staff looks and sounds like Austin, and the baked goods are excellent. Mid-afternoon cookie and coffee is a winner!

This simple yet inviting cafe offers plenty of comfortable tables inside and out. Customers include neighborhood locals of all ages and devotees from all over town. The bakery offers more than a dozen fresh breads, some on selected days only. Pastry connoisseurs can enjoy croissants, muffins and scones. Cherry empanadas overflow with fruit, miniature chocolate eclairs and linzer cookies featuring sweet raspberry jam and powdered-sugar dusting. Other selections include cakes, grilled paninis and salads.
