Mongolian Bar-B-BOOOO. I Love Mongolian BBQ! but... I don't like defrosted meat leftover from lunch. I don't like being told there are no dumplings left at 6:30p. That's been my experience the last two trips. I hate their parking situation, It's really bad. Valet from PF Chang's gets all their parking spaces, what a joke. I use to go all the way up to North Lamar to eat Mongolian but that place has unfortunately closed. I really miss it. The owners where so very nice.

Now if I want Mongolian BBQ I feel stuck into going here and I ask myself what am I doing back here again.

What a shame cause this place has given me the trots for the past 15 years of service. There is something definitely not right going on here. DINNERS BEWARE!

Sorry MBB but you really do suck. And that's all I have to say about that.

I love the create your own stirfry... BUT. My only problems are the attitude of the lady that apparently is part of the ownership and no mixed drinks.

Maybe she was having a bad day, for the last 4 times I was in there, maybe the economy is beating her down, maybe she hates round eyes. Doesn't matter, treating customers the way I have seen her treat them and me the last times i was there will force the place to close eventually.

Don't even think of asking about the dumplings during the day. "They fo dinna only, never fix fo runch" is what was snapped at me. The dumplings are great BTW.

I was having lunch and apparently she wanted me gone. would bring the check with every trip to the table and glare, throwing it down.

It was really weird.

I hope they get their act together before they go down. I like the way the place used to be, but man has it changed. maybe the owner is new or something.

I'll try again but don't know how many times before i give up.

My Favorite Lunch Spot Downtown!. Mongolian Grille Rocks! If you are working or even just staying in Downtown Austin, you have to try this place out! They have the best selection of fresh, seasonal vegetables, fresh cuts of meats and delicious healthy sauces so you can customize your meal exactly the way you want it! It's also pretty cool to see the chef cook it up on their huge flat grill, right in front of you! So check this place the next time you are downtown. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

Cafeteria style Asian barbecue joint lets you decide how much meat is too much.. In Short
One block from the Convention Center, this place is popular with downtown businesspeople and conventioneers. Laid out on two levels, it features both tables and booths; mirrors everywhere; a black, white and turquoise color scheme; and glow-in-the-dark planets and constellations on a black ceiling. You line up to what looks like a salad bar, then fill a bowl with meats and veggies. Douse it with sauce and hand it over to the cooks.

Mongolian Grille--Great!. Although the ambiance is less than exquisite, it is like most Asian cuisine restaurants made up of black, reds, and bamboos. The food, however, makes up for the lack of atmosphere. Since you pick how much you want, you can choose how big/small you want your serving to be. The meal is relatively cheap for dinner (under $10 a person) which includes the plate (piled as high as you like), dumplings, rice, and soup. It's a great place...I wish there was one near my town in San Marcos! Ideal for lunch breaks (in and out in under 30 minutes, if you choose to eat that fast) and relaxing dinners. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Overall, really healthy, really filling, overall completely satisfied!

Create your very own stir-fry concoction. We were greeted immediately and the waiter quickly explained the three-step process, took our drink order and left us to create our own favorite stir-fry combination. First, pile your plate high with your favorite foods (broccoli, mushrooms, bamboo, tofu, beef, chicken, pork, scallions, water chestnuts, noodles, etc.) Second, select and concoct your own special sauce. Suggestions are written on a board or, be adventurous and add your own favorites such as garlic, ginger, sweet and sour and/or hot sauce. Third, watch your meal sizzle on a large flat skillet. In minutes, your perfect stir fry combo is presented to you to take back to your table where your drinks, soup, steamed rice and dumplings soaked in soy sauce are waiting for you. The meal was fun, tasty inexpensive and, the atmosphere was relaxing. I would highly recommend this as unique dining experience to anyone visiting or already living in Austin.
