Editorial Review for Ginger Man Pub – by Seth Sherwood
In Short
Aside from the beer taps and light fixtures, nearly everything in the Ginger Man is made of dark varnished wood or exposed brick. Extra seating can be found in the large, well-maintained patio in back. The crowd is mixed, but skewed toward young professionals. There are some 80 beers on tap and more than 100 in bottles. Sizes range from the tiny half pint to the ostentatious yard-long glass. Wine and champagne are also available.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoFor stomach fillers, think sandwiches, pizza, soft pretzels, empanadas and an array of jerky--both beef and turkey.
The ExtrasThe jukebox tunes are quite diverse. There's a good selection of jazz (Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus), soul (Barry White, Gladys Knight), country (Buck Owens, Patsy Cline) and alt-rock (Replacements, Radiohead).

I have been to Gingerman quite a few times. It never gets old, the beer selction is the best in Austin and the Atmoshere is cool, very Austin,a good place to sample some beer and talk during the day. At night it's a great place to start off the night off... The crowd and staff love beer and you can easily talk about different beers for hours with anyone. Stop by and have a few.... Cheers!!!!

Gingerman is a great place to go for just having a beer, for happy hour, or hanging out and chatting with friends. The bar has a very nice 'feel' to it and it's refreshing that they have only one tiny TV in the entire place, so people can focus on talking, rather than watching TV like in a stupid sports bar. The beer selection is excellent and all beers always taste the way they are supposed to taste - not at some other larger bars (such as Sherlocks, Little Woodrow's etc.) where none of the beers they have on tap taste right. There is one review here where a person complains about 'bad service'. You walk up to the bar and order your beer and the people behind the counter are friendly and knowledgeable, what else would you want? A waitress bringing your beer to your table? Give me a break!
