The Doorman Hit a Girl. 2-10-12. Really? 6th St. can get boisterious and fun on a friday night, but when a establishment allows their employees to drink on the job; you should expect the worst.. The same doorman I saw pounding shots, got in 2 different fights and both times it was completely obvious he was instigating them. I guess he had his adrenaline running or whatever BS excuse, but a innocent college girl ran up and asked him to "please stop fighting!".. He quoted, "shut up, b****," and punched this innocent girl in the jaw for no reason!! He really hurt her. This a**hole belongs in prison.
Should I Support the Cause?. Imagine being a single entity of a group of 15+ diverse associates, friends, classmates, and co-workers. The one person who gets denied entry to the establishment is the 5’-10”, 160 lb black man who’s Hollister, collared, polo style, medium sized shirt happens to be too long. Of course as you demonstrated politely, the shirt could not possibly get any shorter, when you raise your arms this shirt actually comes right to your waistline. Of course this isn’t the first time that this fine establishment has made a debauchery out of your presence at his fine establishment. The last time you visited it was your “extra baggy” Express jeans that gave you a threatening demeanor. Keep Austin Weird, but please don’t make Austin Racist. I can only wish for the best…let’s stop paying Austin bars and clubs to humiliate your own friends, co-workers, classmates, by making them aware of their color and denying them entrance based upon it please!
RACIST DISCRIMINATION.
Went there last night and ADAM J. a bouncer told my friend that he wasnt going to let another black guy in the club.............. and then when another bouncer came up he said this guy is black and isnt getting in.. after that happended i asked to speak to a manager and they said he doesnt want to speak to you... then a guy who seemed to be abouncer came up and said i am the bouncer manager.... then he wouldnt show any proof of employment....
DO NOT GO HERE..... RACIST PEOPLE
The Worst Employees on 6th Street. I was out on a Saturday and stopped at Soho with some friends. When I handed my ID to the door guy he was fooling around and gestured with his arm like a moron and my ID flipped out of his hand. My friends and I looked everywhere for it but could not find it. The door guy said to go talk to his manager and the manger was even more unprofessional and rude than the door guy. He first made a comment that if it was a fake that was my fault. I assured him it wasn't then he said "I can't believe I got pulled away from the bar for this. it didn't even happen in my bar so who cares!" He wouldn't even talk to me about the situation and the door guy that chucked my ID denied to his boss that he even did anything. I understand that mistakes happen but it was the way that the management handled the situation that really irked me. Now my ID is somewhere on 6th street and anybody could have picked it up. Do not go to this bar unless you want to be treated like some worthless human being even though your only goal is to go spend money at there bar so they can make money! Horrible customer service and beyond unprofessional!
Hit-or-miss. Had some great times, but also been there when it is dead as well. When it is on it is hopping. It is all about timing and a place that is great with a large group of friends
Great Atmosphere-Hot Bartenders!!. I love going to SOHO! Great atmosphere, Great music, Great drinks and prices!! PS.Jeremy is a really HOT bartender!!!
Irrepressibly hip East Sixth Street bar the high ceilings and ultraviolet lighting..
In Short
Beautiful people mingle against a musical background of throbbing techno--with an occasional classic rock interlude thrown in for good measure. The dance floor upstairs gets packed enough to give a fire department conniptions, but the tables somehow remain intimate even with a crowd. In true Austin fashion, the impeccably dressed bartenders have been seen shotgunning Lone Star from a can, so don't let the swank factor fool you.
the new place to be on 6th. the new soho is in effect...a brand new owner...and the coolest staff on 6th st. I visit there everytime I come to town. I love the strong drinks, awesome dancing, and great people. I always have the best time when I'm there. The dancing, music, and all the hot people are a bonus.
