Overpriced, weak drinks. I went to SE on a Thursday night with friends and we sat on the roof top patio. The view was perfect but the service and drinks were terrible. It was not busy and it took over 15 mins. to get service. My vodka tonic tasted like tonic and was served in a plastic glass. When we requested a new drink she said they were "premade" that way. We asked how you premake a vodka tonic and she was clueless. Offered to make a double for us which tasted just like the first one. I say don't bother with SE and go to another place on 4th street for better drinks and service. They need to get over themselves.

Karaoke Is Great. I was so please to see that Speakeasy decided to add karaoke to it's lineup. I had the best time. The host is wonderful and entertaining. I have been to a lot of karaoke shows in the Austin area and I have to say ... she has the best song list I have ever seen. I will make this my regul;ar spot for karaoke.

Barstaff not as beautiful...lost hotties. Use to have the best barstaff in Austin. Now all the guys are just plain ugly. I always brought my girlfriends for good drinks, good atmosphere, and most of all good looking staff. Has gone down hill and needs new management. Why did you let these people leave? Hopefully they get better staff and friendlier too...

love it. I spent a weekend in austin with a friend recently, and we went to speakeasy both nights we were there. It's such a great place. The downstairs bar area had great bands both nights, and the upstairs rooftop patio was beautiful and mellow. The uptairs reminded me alot of a bar scene in la. Everyone was great looking and dressed up to the minute. The bars were packed, but the bartenders were still friendly and the drinks are very affordable. I had a great time, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Classy is the Word. What a joint! Dark wood decor, great band, excellent rooftop bar. That's why these guys have been around for so long. Everyone should do it this well.

Great Bar. The atmosphere was cool. Dark and posh.

Service was very friendly and efficeint. I definitely plan on stopping back in next time I'm in town.

Nice place, little expensive. I made my first visit to Speakeasy over the weekend. The decor was nice and the rooftop terrace is great. Contrary to other reviews, I found the wait staff to be very friendly and very attentive (not to mention attractive). I didn't interact much with the crowd besides my group of friends, but it looked to be the typical 4th street mix. I didn't find the drinks to be too expensive, most of mine were around $4.50. Cover was also $5. So if you have the money to spend, I would definitely recommend it.

Nice ambience. The decor combined with the live music and roof top terrace makes this a favorite of mine.

three levels of classy. I never had so much fun at one place. Sit down and enjoy the music. Hang out at the long bar downstairs. Dance in front of the band. play pool on the second level. Watch the band from the balcony. Retire to the rooftop for a while and get to know your date. AND THE BAND WAS OFF THE HOOK!! People were dancing everywhere.

Not Easy to Speak. Defintely not what was advirtised. Band was so loud could not even talk to my girlfriend without shouting. Picked this bar because Citysearch listed it as romantic...hardly. Drinks were way too expensive and the service slow and annoying. Defintely a bar for that 30-45 crowd looking to dance to a poor 80's cover band in a feeble attempt to recapture those days when they didn't have to pay for a babysister in order to go out. My tip: If you are still getting carded at bars, avoid this one.
