Maggie Mae's

Great upstairs view but everything else is just all right.. Maggie Mae's was the first bar my sisters wanted to visit when they came for SXSW. Came to Maggie Mae's at around 11 or 12 and we were feeling it. The rooftop was definitely cool, and we were yelling at people in the street below and got asked to be quiet. Please it's sixth street. Anyway it is a nice to get some fresh air while drinking! There were 2 bars upstairs and neither were crowded, so that was awesome.

The band we saw was really good, but the stage is higher than back part of the room, so the crowd was blocking my view :(.

I enjoyed it for sure, but it wasn't the best bar or venue in Austin by a longshot. Nothing too too special, but nice to get away during SXSW!…

not the best. I like the atmosphere and the upstairs deck at Mae's but this place isn't one of my favorites. The live music downstairs is horrible and it takes forever to get a drink. On the weekends a domestic canned beer is $4 (lame) but the staff is always nice. This bar is a good place to head to after you're already drunk.…

A Gem on 6th. Just did the tour of 6th and this place was the highlight of the night. Friendly bartender, decent prices (unlike Buffalo Billiards and Nunos), great atmosphere. My brother summed it up best for the crowd, "like nerds meet the women of Baywatch."…

Great afternoon, free wi-fi, cool breeze. Recommendation for an afternoon on 6th St, in general, and Maggie Mae's in particular: Good little happy hour, currently $2 for wells and $2 for beer, but ck w/ the bartender; and they have a free WI-FI (after all, this IS Austin). It's a cool open air patio, w/ a full bar and a good breeze.…
