great bands play here. I'd much rather go anywhere on Red River that go to 6th street. This place has good music, atmosphere, non pretentious, fewer frat boys that 6th... good times!
Some shows all ages. the review says all shows are 18 & up, not true I am going there tonight for an all ages gig! Thay feature many new an inginutive artist!

Exceptional live music venue.
The Red Eyed Fly is one of the cleanest, well managed live music clubs in Austin. Patrons have the option of hanging out in the indoor lounge or watching the live music on the back patio/stage area.
The beer is cold, and the pool tables are almost level.
As for the band payout, it is true that mgmt. withholds overhead, which is kinda uncool, since the bands are bringing in people who BUY DRINKS from the bar (a.k.a. profit for the club). But mgmt has always been upfront about the withholding, and the payout to the bands has always been fairly distributed based on the number of people each band brings in. So stop whining and have fun and enjoy the fact that the REF has good sound, cold beer, and hot water and soap in the bathrooms.…
