I've seen Buffalo Billiards exist in one of two states: subdued pool hall for serious billiards sportsmen, or wild, Spring Break-esque 6th Street bar where the Real World: Austin cast used to hang out. The latter personality suits St. Patrick's Day partiers just fine, and Buffalo Billiards does it right with beer specials galore.
Refreshing Waterhole.
Huge place, lots of pool, fooseball, darts & cheap drinks.
I was happy to see more than just Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light & Lone Star on Tap (seemed like that's all the other bars on 6th had). We roamed in after a horrible lunch at Hickory Street, played a little pool & darts, had a few beers and just an all around good time. The place is very laid back, service was good and prices were great.
Would definitely recommend that you check this place out.
Fun, Affordable and Fabulous Food. Great place to meet friends, grab a table and people watch Sixth Street, play shuffleboard!, play Buck Hunter!, play Darts and Pool!. The food is great, the drinks are good, the service is great and people do not pressure you to buy more or to clear your table and leave. Under 21 are NOT allowed and each time I have gone there is a good representation of all adult ages, well except elderly, and some good pool players to watch. Big screen TVs included.
retarded bar prices. really enjoyed the place till I ordered a drink. $11 bucks for a double Jack on the rocks...ridiculous. can get the same drink for half at Midnight Rodeo. Be smart, take your business somewhere else and let this place go bust which it deserves for the highway robbery prices.
A Western-themed pool hall that attracts a relaxed, young crowd..
In Short
This 22,000-square-foot Western-themed joint has regulation-sized pool tables and dart boards to entertain. Green and tan walls offer minimal decor, but allow for the bumps and scrapes from pool cues. Although a few serious pool players frequent Buffalo Billiards, it's mostly 20-somethings who come out to shoot a game or two, drink a beer and have a good time. To complement brews, an appetizer menu offers buffalo wings, nachos and the like.
Expensive fun. I like this pool spot because sometimes it's nice to have your own table with no quarters. The balls and cues are all well maintained and there are several dartboards too. The bartenders tend to get distracted, so be ready to wave your hands. If you want a whole different experience, go upstairs. It feels like you're in a lodge or something.
