The owner Corey laid 20 of us off in
Key West with out any notice even though he knew he only had a year lease. (Which we did not know about) He had his GM send us an email the day it closed telling us we were out of a job as of right now. People are having a hard time feeding their kids, paying rent, some had to drop out of school. It is extremely hard to get a job down here from June-January and he knew that. When we opened he preached about taking care of his employees like family. I'd hate to be related to him. I have tried to contact him numerous times and he will not respond. No apology, no letters of recommendation, just closed the doors and he never looked back. Well, we're still down here regretting ever working there. Thanks Corey, your really helping the economic recovery by adding to the 13 million people that are out of work, but hey, at least you made money and thats all that matters. One of the reasons he closed the bar in Key West, which was busy every night, was due to not being able to charge a cover at the door, because no one would pay it down there. He uses the undocumented money to pay his piano players and not record it to the IRS.
I think its funny that we are required to give two weeks notice of quitting but he can close the doors and leave us all unemployed. PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES
GREAT MUSIC. I was in town for 5 days. I went to Petes 4 of those days. This is one of the best places for entertainment I have ever been to. Servers were rushed and busy but overall okay. Yes the building is old but thats the atmosphere. As for the music...all I can say is TOP NOTCH. I had so much fun and met lots of great people. The muscians are FANTASTIC.
Great fun. First time at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, great place, wonderful atmosphere, well worth a visit, we will return
Great music with great audience participation. Went last night for the first time with my mother and we had a great time. She?s a musician herself so she is not amused by just anybody. Of all the piano bars I?ve been to, Chicago and a few in Vegas, this is by far the best performers I?ve seen. They engage the audience very well which is the cornerstone of a dueling piano performance. They have 2 teams of players which switch every hour but also do an ensemble complete with guitar or bass and drums. Service was okay, fair prices but had to go to the bar to get service as tables were really tight for server to get to us. Will definitely go again!
lousy service. Used to go here all the time, but bartenders started getting rude. Guess they're not getting enough tips. And don't you dare have fun, they'll make you leave. Over $4 drinks and giving them a $10, still isn't good enough for them. I'll spend my money elsewhere...
Sing along with the piano at this East Sixth Street staple ideal for parties and out-of-town guests..
In Short
This popular stop is big enough to give everyone room to spread out, but cozy enough to feel the community vibe of the group singing. Four skilled piano players play two baby grand pianos, in two-person rotations every hour, accompanied by the audience's voices. As the beer begins to flow and the sing-a-longs reach a fever pitch, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement. The "show," when the waitresses and bartenders take the stage, starts at 8pm.
I love this place!. Everytime I go to Pete's there are so many hot women I get scared! Its been extremely busy the last few times I've gone so next time I will definately get there early. Rock on Pete!
WOW!!!. I had a blast here!! It was like my collage days all over again. Excellent staff with a party atmosphere, what else is there to say -- WOW!!
