Best kept a secret...shhhh. These ladies are wonderful!!!! I just picked up a dress that I was having them fix the straps on. (A previous alterations place had really done a horrible job. They hadn't shortened the straps enough and they were different lengths! I couldn't believe it, I mean its not rocket science, right?) Anyways, I heard about Marfiel's on citysearch, and thought I'd give them a try. When I dropped off the dress, the sweet woman told me it would be $15. Great, I thought. Well when I went to pick up the dress, not only did it fit perfectly....but she also wrote on the sales ticket $12 for the alterations. I gave the woman $20, and said keep it. She was so thankful, but I'm the one that is sooooo grateful, this dress is going to be perfect for my rehearsal dinner!!!

These Ladies are Amazing. My partner and I found out about Marfiel's through Citysearch, actually. This place is absolutely a hidden East Austin gem! The ladies there are friendly and courteous-- all while they are fitting and marking your clothing for alterations.

We've taken designer jeans to have them hemmed or taken in, and they even manage to duplicate the strange sticthing some of our jeans have; you'd never know they had been altered. We've even had 3 rooms worth of curtains created from just the bolts of fabric, the measurements, and a description of how we wanted the panels to hang -- they look amazing!

Marfiel's is now the ONLY place we go for our alterations.

Old school and great service. I really dig the ladies at Marfiel's. It was quick and easy and the turnaround time was super fast. I highly recommend them to anyone who is tired of the blah service at the so called "Best in town" Ace and also to anyone who wants to save some cash. It's definitely old school, but that's what I like about it.

Friendly, attentive local tailor/seamstress. Quality work that's always on-time.. Marifel's is a small locally owned tailor on the east side. The service is "old school" where the seamstresses actually talk to you. They also did a wonderful job on my wedding dress alterations at a GREAT price! I will definately continue to support Marifel's Tailor!!!

Awesome Service and Quality. This is one of Austin's best kept secret. This small business has been serving the Austin community for over 19 years. They not only service everyday clothes that need alterations but also service items you would never even think about fixing, such as comforters, curtains, ect. They also carry a variety of wedding accesories that can be customized to your wedding. They alter wedding dresses along with bridesmaids and the rest of the wedding party. This place is very quality oriented as they let out a bit on my dress that had bead work along the sides and they continued the pattern and placed new beadwork, you could never tell it was added on.
