The secret to these great prices is that Austin Flower Co. also serves as a wholesaler for retail florists, so you can buy in bulk or by the stem. On any given day, you can find both dyed-black and teeny-tiny calla lilies and orchid plants ready for you to take home. The Flower Co. can also take care of wedding and party displays.

I was planning an intimate Celebration of Life ceremony for my father after he passed away for a small group of people. I had never planned a "funeral" type service so I researched and found that flowers were very expensive for what you were getting. I asked one coworker if they knew anything about DIY places to get quality flowers without having to go to an HEB or Walmart. He recommended this location. I had seen if for years but never went inside. I had a list of flowers that I wanted to mean something to make my own arrangements. They were extremely patient, courteous and caring for what I was going through. They told me to arrive @ 0700 on a Thursday so I could get the freshest flowers (and the best pick) then they held the flowers in the cooler until I was ready to make the arrangements. And the PRICE!!! I was able to come away with 10 different types of bunch flowers for under $55. I will recommend this location to everyone. I even told my husband that he can always just stop in and get me a rose and I won't gripe about "wasting money on flowers". LOL

I was searching all over Austin in late August for an "orange hybiscus" plant worthy enough to send to a horticulturist friend for his 60th birthday. This plant was special not only for his birthday, but also because he had just recently received "good news" that he was "cancer free" from a bone cancer that had flared up from repercussions from his stint in 68-69 tour in combat in Viet Nam. He is one of the few "surviivors" of that war and has contributed back to our society as a school couselor, with one more year til his retirement. He had asked his daughter to look for a hybiscus plant for his birthday, preferably an orange one, and she found only reds and pinks, so I was assisting with her search. I stopped on my way from work to the Austin FLower shop on w 35th as I always enjoyed their variety and fresh flower section, and the owner, herself was ther late in the afternoon, and stopped to not only help me with finding an "orange" hybiscus, bigger than I could imagine and healthy as all-get-out. Must have had over 20 blooms, and was 3-4 ft tall.(and under $18.00 with tax)! When the owner heard my story, proceded to prepare it and box it free of charge for shipping. I shipped it that evening per UPS ground, and my friend's dad received it the next day with glorious color popping out everywhere when he unraveled the box and wrapping paper! IT made his day. No other shop I know would have gone this far in customer care, nor had the variety of plants and flowers they have at Austin FLowers. Thank goodness we have them here!

I used Austin Flower Co. for my wedding flowers. They couldn't provide me with a quote or anything in writing ahead of time, so I was a little nervous about what would show up. I should not have worried at all! I ordered several potted azaleas for centerpieces. They were full of the the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen, and in the fuschia I had requested. All of the guests commented on how gorgeous they were. I also ordered about four dozen each of roses and lilies in orange and pink. They were amazing, and all were of incredible quality. Austin Flower Co's staff were very helpful and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning to do DIY flowers for an event.
