Great experiece. They fixed my lamp in about 5 minutes (the lamp had been out of commission longer that I would like to admit), and the fee they charged was so reasonable, I had to ask if they were sure.

Best place for repairs, custom lamps and shades ever!. Was recommended by a good friend who has been a Tipler's regular for over 10 years. They fixed my lamp that need a new socket and some tightening in about 4 minutes! I also have never seen so many shades and was so happy to find a place with such variety! I wanted a brightly colored tall drum shade for my lamp and they had hundreds of swatches to choose from and I was able to just give my desired dimensions and it was as easy as that! They ordered it, took about 4 weeks to make and they called when it was ready. Great service and wonderful problem solvers. A real gem of Austin.

Where I finally found the perfect desk lamp. I searched for over a year for the perfect Art Deco desk lamp.

After a college recommended Tipler to me on several occasions I decided to swing by to see what they had.

In less than ten minutes I found exactly what I had been searching for. All of my clients compliment it every day.

I'm very pleased with the unique selection and the very knowledgeable staff. The shop has a genuine, wonderful old world charm.

Great place to buy a special gift for a dear friend, or extra special client. I'll be back for more.

Excellent Lamp Repair Shop!. For our wedding gift we were given this BIG, beautiful, hand blown, yellow glass chandelier imported from France, that we somehow had to find a way to get back to Austin from Florida. During the trip one of the arms broke off, so we did some research and called around and everyone referred us to Tipler's. We brought in the chandelier and told them that we were trying to avoid paying $$$ for the repair and they were very willing to work with our budget. The repair was excellent and you can't even tell that one of the arms had broken off. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants top service for their lighting fixture needs!

Stroll down memory lane. On Fifth Street near Whole Foods, this hidden treasure is full of delightful lighting. With its own, easily accessed parking, it makes in and out quick and easy. Mr. Tipler has a large variety of restored antique and old lighting from various vintages. When I built my new, "old" home in the Texas Hill Country, I found amazing and delightful lighting pieces for most of my rooms. He has also remade and rewired older pieces for me. I think Tipler's is a unique, one of a kind store for those of us looking for "Light."
