Editorial Review for BookPeople – by Betty Castle
In Short
A literary mover and shaker, BookPeople has books and magazines for all, and sells gifts and jewelry. It also serves as a popular stop-off for author tours. Austin's New Age bent makes those authors a major draw, but they also bring in major names like Gregory Maguire, Joyce Carol Oates, and Neil Gaiman. Many of their sections also have a decorative theme, such as the Buddhism department, which also holds bells, bowls and meditation pillows.

BookPeople is truly the best bookstore in Texas (and maybe the world). They have a fabulous inventory of Austin and Texas authors as well as beautiful jewelry, stationary and gifts of all kinds. Don't miss the funky toy section on the second floor. They have a coffeehouse in store, author visits, book groups and much more. BookPeople is truly a community bound by books.
