Terrible Customer Service

I use to buy my boots only here, however after my last experience I will not buy anything from them again. I went in looking for a durable pair of boots to wear in San Francisco on vacation. I wound up with a pair of Justin Ropers, thought the low heal would be a nice change with all the hills, I wore them twice and the leather ripped from me crossing my legs and striking the boot with the heal of the other boot. Obviously not durable at all. I went back to the Round Rock location the day I came back into town. The General Manager told me he could do nothing for me even though his sales person didn't know what they were talking about and obviously the boot even if it wasn't durable had some thin leather on it and was defective. He told me I should find a repair shop. I have worked in retail including with shoes and I have never been treated so bad or ran into someone unwilling to help. Take your business somewhere else.

Computer was towed

I pulled in off the information hiway to a small Austin business at www.allensboots dot com. I was looking at several super priced really nice boots when I went to go refill my coffee cup. When I returned with a fresh cup of java I found my computer had been towed! From a friend's computer I used their online contact form and quickly received an auto reply from "matt". Matt must be the duty geek and as such is bombarded with e-traffic to the point he can't reply. Or maybe he is the tow truck driver, too (would explain his hiding). Anyhow, I called them on the telephone and bought some great boots and managed to get my computer back. Summary: they get one star in each of internet communications and sharing the earth (parking lot) but they get 5 stars for their over the phone service as well as selection!

I agree with last post - type of store that makes Austin what it is

I go there almost everytime I am on South Congress. I love walking in the door just to smell all that leather...very cool and always friendly...nice shirts, too.
