drunkand hungry?. No place like TC to get some after-party grub.....chicken fajitas with sour cream almost let me forget about the hangover I'm gonna have...

Hygeine challenged. I used to eat at the T.C. location on Riverside, but they started using food that was past its prime. It would be good, healthy food for cheap if it weren't for that. But who needs a tip about which chain restaurant to eat at anyway? I want the inside scoop on good local, one-of-a-kind eateries. They're much more fun!

Missing it in CO. Before anyone complains about the food/service at Taco Cabana, come to Denver. There is NO Tex-Mex to be found and the service in most restaurants and fast foods is worse than any experience I ever had at Taco Cabana. We especially enjoy the tortillas, queso and fajitas. Not to even mention the bean and cheese breakfast tacos. On a recent visit to San Antonio, we ate at the restaurant on Pat Booker Rd. 5 out of the 7 days we were in town. Thanks Taco Cabana, we got our fix : )

Don't bother. I have only used the drive thru but the service has always been bad. And they always screw up my order. Food is ok when they get it right.

Taco Nasty. I'm sorry, but Taco Cabana is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Mexican food !!!! Sure, it's cheap, but I couldn't even force their "food" down my throat when I was starving !!!

Fajitas are ready. 24/7 you can get good fajitas and tex-mex cheap!

Dining area cleanliness is an issue at some locations. Food quality lacks consistentcy and varies somewhat from location to location. Even with occaisional inconsistency, still a greaat bargain aand open wwhen you need them.

Perfect tortillas!. Taco Cabana is the best place to go if you only have a couple of dollars to spend on food. In the old days,when I was really struggling, I used to split the beans from one of their bean and cheese tacos to a free tortilla, and that would fill me up. They've made some changes, and you don't get free tortillas anymore. However they are still a bargain. For a fast food place, they are still one of the best places for Mexican food in Austin. I still stick to their bean and cheese tacos or fajita tacos, but the rest of their menu is good. For late at night munchies, nothing beats taco cabana! One con is that the drive-thru can be problematic - just go in to order!

100% Late Night Munchies Satisfaction. With all the various fast food/tex-mex restaurants, I have to say that it's my favorite and that you definitely get your money's worth at TC. Not only is it affordable but it's delicious! I leave for Colorado soon, I'll miss Taco Cabana....and let's just say TC tastes good anytime of day, even at 2:30 in the a.m. Good times, and don't forget to floss.

Great late-night. After a night on the town, stop here for tasty, yet cheap tacos. I like to get two beef fajita tacos and call it a night. Sit outside and watch the Lamar traffic. During the day, you can watch folks walking around Town Lake. Also, this is a good meeting place if you are going to do the trail with friends.
