Overall Best Mexican in Austin. I hesistate to write this review because I don't want Habanero to get too popular. I often make friends I take here sign a NDA. My boyfriend and I go here all the time and are never disappointed. The food is great, and the service is even better. The horchata here is homemade and the best I have ever tasted. We recently tried to expand our horizons and made the horrible mistake of trying another restaurant one sunday afternoon. We were ignored by about 12 waitresses, looked at one another and immediately got up and went to Habanero. We'll never stray again!
Best Mexican Food in Austin!. My husband and I have been looking for good Mexican food and we have found it! The food is consistently great and cheap. The enchiladas are wonderful and the flan is worth a try for $2.50! The restaurant is an old house that has been converted and the ambience is simple, but the food is worth it. They just opened for dinner on the weekends, too!
Greatest. They have the best green enchilidas and their service is great. Very friendly.
Best Mexican Restaurant. Habanero's Mexican Cafe is the best mexican restaurant I have ever eaten. The food is so full of flavor and never greasy. It's mexican comfort food. You always feel like your eating at home and the service is so great. The owner and waitstaff are very nice and friendly, and best of all, it is so cheap. You get a lot for what you pay for. I always tell everyone I know to go visit them.
My favorite!.
I've been going to Habanero for about 5 years, and I love the menu.
I lived in El Paso for several years, so I am accustomed to a little more spice in my food. Habanero fills my need. The salsa is the best.
Unfortunately, as it gets more popular, it gets busier at lunchtime. A few minute wait won't stop it from being my lunchtime favorite.
Excellent.
Habanero's is a place that has grown in popularity but hasn't lost the quality. Lately, there has been a wait.
The salsa is excellent. The Fajita Ranchera is fantastic. The chips are mediocre and could be improved.
Also, they have original Mexican Coke which is rumored to use real sugar instead of corn syrup.
I have only heard one complaint from about 10 people I've taken there. Everyone else loved it.
