Pretty tasty especially the much hyped hippie chick sandwich. Went late on a Sunday morning... hippie chick sandwich was very good, same w/ the catfish. Only disappointment is that they don't serve breakfast & their cobblers weren't anything outstanding. Other than that every thing else was above average. Good service, nice outdoor seating area. We will definitely return.

great service, great food, great atmosphere, Horrible parking & Long wait. Shady grove is by far my favorite restaurant in Austin! The only problem I have is finding a parking spot. And the longest wait that I know for a restaurant. It doesn't matter if you come at an "offf time" (i.e. like at 2 or 3pm, 11am)... there will ALWAYS be a wait. So be prepared to wait and you won't be disappointed. I love the jukebox if I'm stuck indoors. Love the outdoor seating better. The food is great. Good prices, great portions. It is by far the best place to get food in Austin. Try it... you'll love it!

We cleaned our plates!. Shady Grove Rules!!!

I took some out of town guests in for lunch and we didn't want to leave. The brisket tacos were perfect, hippie sandwich delish, and the catfish too good!! I will take everyone I can to this place, can't beat the food or the vibe, thanks for a great time!

Great outdoor dining. One of the best patios in Austin for eating, drinks and hanging out watching a concert. The Hippie sandwich is a great veggie choice and the french fries are the best!

Great outdoor dining!. Outdoor dining doesn't get better. Shady grove has an excellent patio for dining outdoors when weather permits. Casual, relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend the Hippy Chick sandwich!

Try the Hippie Sandiwch. I like the outdoor seating at Shady Grove. Although it seems crowded on the inside most of the time I have never had to wait to be seated. I always get the same thing...the hippie sandwich with their ranch dressing on the side. Great Austin atmosphere.

Yummy Salads!!. Great salads!! And soo many of them. They are very large and filling! Definately recommended. This place is affordable and has great quality food!

Chicken Fried Goodness. The chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken were delicious, and the mashed potatoes were terrific. We had a bit of a wait, but it was Friday night--no surprise. The decor is interesting, and the portions were generous but not insane. The only real misstep was that the waiter forgot to deliver a drink, even after a rather lengthy conversation about the selection. Still, they took it off the bill very quickly.

great ambience. I think this place is a little overhyped. The food and service are great but nothing too special. I do recommend the Hippie Sandwich. It's delicious. It's nicely decorated. Go early because the wait is long. Usually, however, there are seats indoors but a huge line if you want to sit outside.

I love this place.... This place has the best onion rings in Austin and I love the green chile cheese burger. Pretty much everything here is delicious. The decor is really cute inside and when the weather is nice, the patio is great. My only complaint is the wait time is always really long...but it's worth the wait!
