Romeo's - Barton Springs
Owner
Romeos was built on the idea of offering quality Italian Food. Located minutes away from Downtown Austin nightlife in trendy Barton Springs. The atmosphere reminds me of dining in New Yorks Little Italy. With kitsche interior deign, velvet bar stools, plastic grapes. mirrored walls, I expect to see Frank Sinatra enjoying a martini. Lets not forget about the full service bar that makes the dryest martinini in Barton Springs. At night, on weekends, you can enjoy the live music while dinining on the patio. The menu includes Italian specialties, including low-fat dishes and vegetarian dishes, like the spinach pasta dish manicotti al quattro fromaggio.

In Short
The interior is decorated with Italian camp: plastic grapes and leafy vines hang from the ceiling, plus there's Christmas lights, faux bricks, vinyl tablecloths and linoleum tiles. A party always seems to be in session in the sunroom or on the patio. Still, the restaurant is usually filled with canoodling couples of every stripe. The menu includes Italian specialties, including low-fat dishes and vegetarian dishes, like the spinach pasta dish manicotti al quattro fromaggio.

We have been going to Romeo's for many years and always love the experience. First class food, music and service.

When my wife and I arrived we had to wait for about 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us. When we did get seated it was in a terrible location and we requested another table but were told that we had to sit there because it was that servers turn in the rotation and we had to sit in his section. The place was not full at all. From then on out we were just not happy. Everything went wrong. We tried to order wine but they were out of everything we tried to order. We NEVER got our waters that we had asked for when our drinks arrived from the bar. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our food...? I could go on and on about our experience but to sum it up for you... DONT waist your time and money at Romeo's.

I went with a friend to this resturant around 6:00 pm. It was in no way crowded . We ordered as soon as the waitress came around for the first time. We had been sitting there for 15 min and still hadn't placed a drink order. The service the whole time was on par with this. She was rude, and absent through the entire meal. We were there for 2 1/2 hours!! I have never had to wait for this amount of time for a beverage, a meal, or the check. What is so bad about this is that the food was pretty good, but I would never return to this resturant b/c of this horrible service!
