Editorial Review for Romeo's - Barton Springs – by Susan Kirr
In Short
The interior is decorated with Italian camp: plastic grapes and leafy vines hang from the ceiling, plus there's Christmas lights, faux bricks, vinyl tablecloths and linoleum tiles. A party always seems to be in session in the sunroom or on the patio. Still, the restaurant is usually filled with canoodling couples of every stripe. The menu includes Italian specialties, including low-fat dishes and vegetarian dishes, like the spinach pasta dish manicotti al quattro fromaggio.

I was there this weekend and a really great time! The food was great and the atmosphere a lot of fun. I don't enjoy Reale's as much as the last writer but who cares! I love this quaint nostaligic piece of Austin and will continue to go to this place...It beats North which is way overpriced!!

Mediocre food at best. The chicken parmigiana tastes like it came out of a Tyson restaurant pack and the red sauce from a jar of Ragu. For excellent Italian food, I recommend Reale's out on 183, it's authentic Italian food imported from Long Island, NY, and tastes like the real deal to me, having grown up in that area. They have the plastic table cloths and styrofoam planters full of plastic grape vines, and they also have the Reale family wandering around and making sure you're enjoying their restaurant.
Pros: Location
Cons: Food
