Terrible food unprofessional owner. If I could give this place 0 out of 5 stars I would. I can only think that any 5 star reviews here must have some ownership interest in the restaurant or they lost their taste buds in some foreign war. My wife and I went in there with our 7 mo. old baby. I ordered fajitas, she ordered salmon enchiladas. My fajitas came out with no sour cream, no guacamole, no cheese, and no pico de gallo. The meat was really bland and seemed as if it wasn't really even grilled. I told the waitress that as long as I have lived in texas (about 17 years now) I have never seen fajitas that didn't come with at least some of the above ingredients on the side. She said she agreed but was only a waitress and that the owner was on hand if I wanted to talk to her. The owner said no place in town serves fajitas with the above ingredients for that price ($10) I named about 5 restaurants that did and she said sorry, that's my price. I told her that the fajitas were not good and she just grabbed the plate off the table and stormed off. I wasn't looking for a free meal. I rarely complain when I go out to eat. She could have offered me something else off the menu, she could have just given me the sour cream, guac, cheese and pico (to at least mask the poor tasting meat) which would have cost her much less than the $10 she lost by snatching my plate off the table and the untold money she might lose due to this review. My wife choked down her salmon enchiladas (only because she was hungry). They were really dry and overly fishy. Avoid this place like the plague!

Best Mexican placed in town!. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. I was worried when I read some of the reviews, but if you go to this restaurant you will see that it is a great place.

ALMOST RUINED MY VISIT TO AUSTIN. THE FOOD IS NOT EVEN AUTHENTIC TEX-MEX MUCH LESS MEXICAN. ORDERED A TORTA DE PUERCO TURNED OUT TO BE A PORK SLOPPY JOE SERVED WITH PICKLES OF ALL THINGS. THE SERVICE WAS TOO HORRID TO DETAIL AS THEY PAID ABSOLUTLEY NO ATTENTION TO US. EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRAP; A DISGRACE TO AUSTIN AND TEXAS FOR THAT MATTER. THE 1 STAR RATING IS ONLY THERE CAUSE CITYSEARCH WOULD NOT LET ME PUBLISH WITHOUT ONE.

Horrible service and food, skip this place. When this restaurant was on South Congress I loved it, I would take people from out of town there and it was always a big hit. Recently I took a friend to the new location and was horribly embarrassed about making the recommendation.

I ordered fajitas and they pretty clearly were microwaved chicken strips straight out of the freezer. Not a single grill mark or sign that they were even in a frying pan. When I told the waiter they were not fajitas he told me the kitchen was just trying to close down... What? If they are open they should be making quality food.

Don't take anyone here unless you like embarassment.

Nasty and Snobbish Manager. I had just gotten married and was heading from the reception to downtown to go dancing. I was still in my wedding dress and neither me nor my husband had been drinking. I started having terrible, painful stomach cramps because of all the rich food I had eaten at the reception and I desperately needed to use the bathroom. We were stuck in downtown traffic and the only place in front of us was El Sol y La Luna. There was a big sign on the door saying "Bathrooms for paying customers only", so I went in with my wallet and offered to buy something if they'd let me use their bathroom. The female manager behind the counter looked me up and down and curled her lip at my dress. She asked me why I needed a bathroom and I told her I was about to be sick and begged her to let me use the bathroom. She started yelling at me and refusing to let me use it, even though I was offering her cash. I was practically in tears as I was about to get sick all over my wedding dress. She finally realized that if she didn't let me go to the bathroom, I was going to get sick right there in front of all the other customers, so she allowed a hostess to show it to me. I just kept whimpering "Thank you, thank you" as I was led back. Meanwhile, the female manager was screaming at my husband and threatening to call the cops, saying it wasn't her problem that I was sick and that we had no business trying to use her bathroom. My husband kept offering her money, but she refused it and kept shouting until she realized he wasn't going to leave without me and stormed off. It was awful being so sick on my wedding night and then being refused a bathroom. That manager is one of the nastiest people I have ever met and I hope she ends up in the same situation some day so she can see what it feels like.
