In Short – This cozy South Austin merger of country and classic rock and roll will quench your craving for blues music and drink with no frills. With ice cold long necks, two pool tables, a friendly staff, excellent jukebox sound system and an occasional live band, this place is the ultimate spot to unwind, grab a quick bite to eat and make some fast friends at the pool table.

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
Trophy's only serves beer and wine, but you're welcome to bring in the harder stuff.
When to Go:
Bigger shows usually perform toward the end of the week, with a singer-songwriter showcase on Tuesdays and Wednesday reserved for new acts.

Cold Beer, Hot Bartenders, The Best Burgers

by SERDAFIED at Citysearch

I will say this: "This ain't yo momma's house, so if you don't like it loud, find another crowd!" I travel from B.F.E. to come to this place. Wouldn't go anywhere else. The Beer is so damn cold you almost need a sweater to drink it! The shows are nice, with very good, clean, and loud sound. SXSW kicks it hard with multiple stages and bands from all around the globe. A popular site for "Friday Night Lights" film shoots.

The owner don't put up with any B.S., so if you come by to stir it up, I'll read about it in the obituary section.

The nice bartenders always make sure your welcomed and you BEST TIP 'EM WELL!!

Dorothy lied when she said "There's no place like home", what she meant is "There's no place like Trophy's"!!

As Dave said, "Drink don't Drive"!

great joint

by crocodile at Citysearch

this place won't be an undiscovered gem for long. they're undertaking a big renovation project--updating sound and lights and bathrooms and whatnot, and really making a push to get it some more street cred in the world of austin rock clubs. well, i'll count myself as one of the lucky ones that discovered it first. great bands, unpretentious service, low cover charges, pool tables, an outdoor smoking area, pool tables, cheap beer, plenty of parking around. gotta love trophy's.

  • Pros: location, prices, lack of pretention
  • Cons: can't think of any. it's a rock club. it's fun.

Great music!

by elzash at Citysearch

Trophy's is one of the best kept secrets around Austin. If you're expecting a slick 6th Street atmosphere, go to 6th Street. If you want real Austin-made music go to Trophy's. It's a dive in every meaning of the word but that's not a bad thing. Great local musicians (from country to punk), fun special gigs (like the Tom Waits Tribute Night or James Rider's XXXmas), quick bartenders for cold beer and set-ups (yes, you can bring your own bottle)...you just can't beat it. Besides it's next door to Magnolia Cafe! And that's some good stuff!!!

  • Pros: great music, efficient bartenders, beer is only $2.50
