Behind the gas station, enter a dark, smoke-filled atmosphere that's the perfect place to chill and have a few drinks with friends. The bartender can whip up a dirty martini as quick as he can crack open a Lone Star. Two pool tables in the back room are popular, so be prepared to pass the time with a game of foosball.

I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself. I had heard this Austin institution had went soft so I went there last night to see for myself. It was a sad, sad, site. I will never go back Ego's. I loved this place, spent much money here on Lone Stars, saw many great shows, famous folks, & danced my self silly. It is no more. Just a cheezy sad place for cheezy sad people to go. It's now a total joke.

Ego's has undergone many changes recently and although I do miss hearing live music all the time I do not miss paying a cover. That's right NO MORE COVER at Ego's. The Karaoke is a bit of a change but it still has a great atmosphere with friendly bar staff. I have even gotten up and started to sing, something that I swore I would never do, and the funny thing was I had a blast! Although not entirely the same it still has all the qualities I look for in a bar, a comfortable place to relax and have a good time. It is also nice to go in now and be greeted when you walk in instead ignored for 5 minutes before even being approached. The new management has done nothing but good for the place in sales, staff, smell, and over all environment.

Ego's has undergone a major transformation for the better over the last six months. The rude and greedy bartenders have been replaced by much friendlier and able staff. Yes, sadly it's true, no more live music. However, surprisingly karaoke is doing spectacularly well! There are drink specials, superior staff, and finally clean bathrooms! I'll be back!!
