In Short – This is a light, warm space with a helpful, knowledgeable staff and like-minded readers. Toward the back you'll find a cozy living room ensemble where you can grab a chair and pore over Andrew Weil, Ram Dass or Aleister Crowley. Whole Life has a good supply of religion, philosophy, metaphysics, astrology, self-help, psychology and health titles. With candles and incense, coffee and herbal tea, the place even smells enlightened.

I had written a negative review due to disagreement with a WLB policy, but upon reflection decided to just let it go.

A one of a kind, rare, unique book store in the Texas and within the U.S.

by BookGanesha

Not to judge a Book store by its cover or front, but this is one of those rare places that locals can come in and relax, review Metaphysical books & listen to Demo CD's before your purchase them. It is a unique place and has been for 20-25 years (Quarter century now) and has been ran by the same founders since that time. It has an older feel but with many New books of Self Help, Spiritual (not so much religious) theme books as well as some very rare Metaphysical topics that are hard to come by.

They will special order books upon request with some i.d. & contact information as any other store. But this is unlike any other store because they are Locally owned; i.e. Non-for-Profit organization.

The Whole Life book store has been used by many as a sanctuary away from the normal or popular noisy run of the mill chain-name stores that happen to make this store stand out - in a good way. I would dare to say that the positive nature of the store and the helpful workers are pleasant and the Charm of this store that Lives up to the true creed of "service" and one that offers one the ability to change in a positive fashion.

Visit their website on Whole life books<dot>org if memory serves me correctly. Google or try that link.

Blessings to all who plan to visit a place that is open 7 days a week.

  • Pros: Ambience is old school but calm and relaxing & smells great!
  • Cons: No Cell Phones are permitted at all; outside only.
