You can rely on Kenny Hill and his staff to give you feedback on what your car needs to run in its most perfect condition. The distinction to be made here is they are a wealth of knowledge. You might not fix everything they suggest you do, but it is good to know you can depend on them to identify all areas for improvement and of course they will insist you repair any immediate needs.
Recently my 64 VW coasted to a halt going uphill on an intersection flyover in South Austin. Not good. Had it towed to Kenny Hill VW on a Thursday night after 11:00 pm and was contacted by them the next morning with a status report as it's battery charged. Monday morning He called to tell me that it just needed new points and runs like it did before I brought it in. Superb service and affordable. That is why my first choice is always Kenny Hill VW!! Never disappoints me.
I appreciate the prompt and thorough service. And I particularly appreciate having the list of all of the issues on the car that need attention at some point while only addressing the immediate needs to keep the car going.
I took my car to Kenny Hill to check on an oil leak and a couple of strange rattles. Kenny and his team found what they believe was the rattle and repaired that, and replaced the cars valve gaskets which were the cause of the oil leak.
I am always please with the service that I received from Kenny Hill Autowerks. They are very pleasant group and I am pleased with them and I will tell others about them and there service.
I would like to thank Kenny Hill's Auto Werks for being honest in addressing all the problems with my vehicle. There were problems I did not know about and Kenny Hill took the time to explain in detail each problem, cost and time to prepare. I love this shop. The most important thing you all need to know, is that I would highly recommend my family and friends to this auto shop because they take time to ensure you understand what needs to be fixed on your vehicle. Thanks Mr. Hill.
"Excellent, fast and phenomenal work,
as usual, even with a short notice. THANK YOU!!
Next project: electrical update!"
Untrustworthy. Untrustworthy. Thay said I needed all new brake system when all I needed was pads $35 and easy to do my self. They wanted $100 to replace my cabin filter. Again a $10 part and two screws. Easy fix. They are crooks. With VW gas engines use AustinVeedub. With VW TDI's use Robbie Plenge.
KH has done well for my Golf.
I've been having Kenny Hill's Autowerks do prescribed maintenance and occasional repairs on my Golf since it was new (2002). Their prices seem comparable to what the Honda dealer charged for my wife's Civic, the work has nearly always been finished on time, and I've never had to have a repair redone.
The only problems are pretty trivial: After maintenance the tires are always overinflated by 10 psi, and the oil level is above the dipstick's upper mark. The tire pressure is easily adjusted, but according to the owner's manual excess oil can damage the catalytic converter, and removing it is a pain.
