This hotel was exactly what the doctor ordered. We paid a fraction of what we would have otherwise paid at other very similar hotels for the ACL weekend. We were close enough to downtown/Zilker and our favorite perk/guilty pleasure Starseeds cafe was a walk across the street away. The hotel itself left nothing to write home about positively or negatively which is a good thing, as the price point often is accompanied by negative traits. If you're in town for a show and just need a bed, fridge and a toilet, without any (negative) surprises, this place will fit the bill.

Simple and humble hotel. Very convenient to work at the LBJ Library, 10-minute walk. Not many restaurants around, except for a good ethiopian restaurant next door. Good places for researchers and very cheap.

The Rodeway Inn is a pretty basic budget motel. It's not much to look at, and has virtually no amenities (except for free wireless Internet access), but it's located very close to the University of Texas' main campus in Austin, and is in easy driving distance from downtown Austin and the Capitol building. I found the manager to be very professional and courteous.

It was expensive but what I wanted was a good night's sleep and it was real quiet so I got that. I didn't eat the breakfast so cannot comment on that. I would have liked more restaurants nearby but the one that was close was quite satisfactory.

Was a very convenient location to the stadium, no problems walking there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were neat property was well maintained.

Stayed here on our first night of a long road trip, the staff were very helpful in advising on what to see and giving us maps andaking us feel safe. The location is ten mins from everything and a safe area. Rooms were adequately clean for the very cheap price size and facilities are good also for the price. Car park is monitored for safety also.

Convenience for campus visitors.. The Scene
This inn is in a great location for guests hitting the sites of the Capitol City, and it is especially ideal for visitors to the nearby University of Texas. It offers easy access to the campus, and rooms here are in great demand in August when parents move their offspring into the dorms. Guests should also expect high occupancy rates throughout the fall weekends, when football fans flock to the area for collegiate games.

The Details
Guest rooms provide standard basics. They are furnished with coffeemakers, data ports and cable TV with free movies. Local telephones calls are complimentary. A seasonal outdoor pool does the trick on hot summer days. Keep in mind that some of the rooms closest to the interstate may experience road noise.
