Tips for Ken's Donuts

Late Night Tradition. It may not be pretty, but there's no better way to end a late-night drunk than with a bag full of Ken's sour cream cakes or warm apple fritters. CASH ONLY!

Ughh.. The samosas here are delicious. The donuts are mediocre even with late night munchies. The main problem is the Indian lady that works here or owns the business (not sure) is rude and unwelcoming. She got pissed off at a request for chutney, even though that's basically the best thing about the place. Then, once we got home all the way across town, we realized she forgot some of our donuts. The quality of the food doesn't really matter if you don't get it, and you get treated like an a*****e in the process. Thanks for the best samosa and the worst service in Austin.

Late night munchies satisfied here. The donuts are cheap and plenty, but the real star is the surprising Samosa! they are triangular pastry filled with curry potatoes, served with either sweet or spicy chutney. delicious and cheap!!!!! a must try

Go for the holes. This primarily gets 3 stars for being open 24 hrs. Austin needs more places like that because not everyone wants to eat their doughnuts in the morning! The glazed doughnuts themselves were okay. The sugar coating was a little thick making the doughnut feel like it was mushy. The apple fritter was sickeningly sweet (maybe it was too much cinnamon?). The doughnut holes are the only things we would maaaaybe go back for if we're feeling a late night sugar rush.

Mouth-watering, muy sabrosos, doughnuts. Ken's Doughnuts and Pastries is by far the best bakery that I have ever been to. It is conveniently situated near UT, and is extremely well-priced, especially considering the high-quality doughnuts that they offer, freshly-made. There's always a genial face and a friendly smile, ready to assist you. Whatever type of doughnut you want, Ken's will have it, and make your mouth water at the very sight of it. These doughnuts just melt in your mouth with each savory bite. I guarantee you will love Ken's Doughnuts!

Good anytime donuts. Nice, cheap donuts around the clock. Not very pretty inside; best eaten on the go, with friends.

8.5?????. If Ken's Doughnuts rates 8.5, I'm afraid to try any other donuts in Austin. You haven't tasted a good donut if this rates 8.5.

Ken's is THE place for Doughnuts. Without a doubt there is not a more back to the basics, no frills, doughnuts shop around. With the stuffy/snobby Krispy Kreme's popping up everywhere, Ken's is a breath of fresh air. The doughnuts are cheap and great I might add...The secret though, 2 a.m. The hot glazed doughnuts are the best you'll ever find. If you're not a night owl and don't like to stay up late, then just ask the friendly staff and they'll kindly guide you to the freshest batch of doughnuts in the shop. The selection is great at night and in the morning.

The owner is great and extremely funny if you get to know him. I would and do recommend Ken's to all my friends, as it is my choice for doughnuts. Nothing comes close...especially at 2 am. This is one of the greatest...and last true doughnuts shops of yesterday.
