In Short – Longtime residents of Austin will remember By George's first incarnation at the Dobie Mall in 1977. What began with green shag carpeting has grown into a spacious, sun-drenched space on North Lamar Boulevard, filled with elegant clothing and carefully chosen accessories. By George has hip and current items that are rarely found elsewhere in Austin. A young crowd browses through Moroccan tea glasses, candles and one-of-a-kind jewelry, plus a department store-sized selection of purses and handbags.

NOT THE BEST SELECTION, PRICES OR SERVICE

I ALWAYS LOVE THE CLOTHES IN THE WINDOW SO I TRY TO GO IN AND LOOK BUT THE SERVICE IS ALWAYS JUST SO RUDE. YOU BETTER BE DRESSED TO THE 9'S TO EVEN CONSIDER HAVING SOMEONE HELP YOU, AND EVEN THEN IF YOU DONT BUY ANYTHING THEY TURN THEIR NOSE DOWN AT YOU. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FUN SHOPPING

Wonderful Fashion

This place is so great. They have the best selection of clothes and the staff is wonderful. I was offered champagne while I shopped and found the perfect dress for the event I was attending. It can be a little pricey, but come on girls...sometimes we just have to have that perfect cocktail dress!!!

Go elsewhere -- VERY rude service!!

Skip this store even though it has nice and unique (but very expensive) stuff. The service is horrible -- maybe the rudest I have ever encountered all across the board. There are plenty of other great boutiques in Austin with different but equally unique merchandise -- and without the attitude.
