The meat, or should I say the milk of the matter, is the consistently delectable product and the zany antics of the scoopers behind the counter. The creamy dreamy 14 percent butterfat treat is music to the mouth of ice-cream connoisseurs and novices alike. Amy never compromises on quality ingredients, and is always open to new flavor suggestions. The folks behind the counter are dedicated to pleasing the senses not otherwise occupied with delicious dairy goodness. Amy looks at "going to get ice cream" as a total experience that should be the brightest part of our customer's day. To accomplish this, Amy hires people based on the paper bag test. The paper bag test? What the heck is that, you say? Each prospective employee is handed a white paper bag and told to "be creative." This process ensures that our employees will never hesitate to go that extra mile to put a smile on YOUR face.

Amy's Ice Cream has been a tradition since Amy Miller opened the first shop in 1984. With such unique flavors as Mexican vanilla, sweet cream and, for the truly Texan, Shiner Bock, there's an ice cream concoction here for everyone. On warm evenings, a crowd of families and couples gather and the murmur of friendly chit-chat can be heard over the sound of paddles beating candy or cookie mix-ins into ice cream scoops.
