Austin >Thai Kitchen
Sure the fluorescent lighting is tough on the eyes and complexion, but this campus-area eatery never fails in the late-night convenience department. Though dishes are nothing to write home about, they are tasty, inexpensive and filling- and sometimes that is all you need. Tip: If you like curry, their curry dishes and soups are deliciously creamy and pack a real kick!
A cozy little West Campus outfit, with huge bowls of curry, wall-mounted TV's, and reliably filling late-night party food. Or hangover food, depending on how long your party lasted.
Delicious Thai that I can count on. They pack a bold spice and make a mean red curry. My favorite Thai take out spot for sure!
I love this place. I especially love the Thai Spaghetti!!! It's small and it gets crowded, but the service is good.
Worst Thai Food in the City.
My favorite food is Thai food. I love it and could eat it every day. Thai Kitchen to me has the worst Thai Food in town.
I have eaten there on several occasions and every time I leave disappointed and swear I will never go back. The soup tastes watered down to where I can't even finish it, the vegetables don't seem fresh, when I order a curry mild, it always comes super spicy. Unfortunately this place is a waste of time. Go somewhere else instead.
great authentic Thai food!. I'm new to town and have to find my new favorite Thai food spot. My apartment locator recommended me Thai Kitchen and their beef salad. Having been to Thailand and tasted real beef salad, this is as close as it gets! I will try Tom Yum Goong at my next trip!
Best seafood hot pot in town!!. Thai Kitchen is by fay the best Thai restaurant Ive had since I moved to Austin. The seafood hot pot is the best!!!
Pretty good!. Decided to try this place out because of the late hours. I was pleasantly surprised! Cute decor, food was tasty and full of flavor. I would have liked to see bigger portions and friendlier service. Our waiter was not bad just not super friendly but the food and price make up for it. I also like the convenience of late hours. I had the pad thai and green curry seafood...the only complaint was the calamari was a bit overcooked. If you are not big on spicy- beware- it IS spicy!
Gone downhill. I ate here tonight for the first time in a year. It has really gone down hill. Last year, the entree came with soup and an egg roll. Tonight I just got the entree. And it was disgusting! This was one of my favorite places in austin but I will never eat here again. Gross!
I think the food is average to above for the money. The problem here is that they will change
your credit card or debit card to increase their tip. They have done this to me twice.... The owner
thinks it is perfectly acceptable for his waiters to practice this. Not ok with me!
My favorite Thai food in Austin. Good, affordable Thai food. The Phat Thai is wonderful, as is the green curry spaghetti. Good vegetarian selection. Each sauce has a unique flavor, so try a few dishes and share.
Order the Tiger Cry & Larb Gai and bring your own beer. Seriously, order the Tiger Cry and/or the Larb Gai & you won't be disappointed. For vegetarian recommendations, look to another reviewer.
Dishonest at best.
The food here is so,so. I have had better and I have had worse. The problem is the dishonesty of
the owners and workers at this establishment.
I ordered food to go here. I stopped by to pick up and paid with my debit card. I gave a cash tip and did not
enter the tip amount on the debit reciept he had me sign. The man working the cash register entered his
own tip amount to my debit card. I only noticed this because I was paying my bills on line the next morning and noticed the huge difference in the amount I signed for and the amount that went through.
I tried to have them fix it. No use, they claimed my bank made a mistake. I then called the owner,
a Mr Toy. he refused to fix the amount told me there was nothing he would do and I could call the
police if I liked....
I finally had my bank fix the amount but all patrons be away of the DISHONESTY here.
