Editorial Review for Cain and Abel's – by Mark Powell
In Short
This well-known, well-frequented, college sports bar has been a staple near UTA's Greek area for years. Many consider this bar the best place to watch UT away games while trying to meet that perfect sorority girl or frat guy. Complete with an upstairs deck and a downstairs patio, Cain & Abel's offers a menu geared to satisfy any sports bar appetite: breakfast burritos, tacos and the Southwest Melt of roast beef, onions, jalapenos and cheese.

Insider Tips
Look GoodThe casual feel warrants patrons wearing sports jerseys. Frat/sorority threads and khaki pants are about as dressy as anyone ever gets.
Save MoneyCome between 11am and 3pm every weekday for their $4.99 lunch specials that include chips and a drink. Tuesday nights are always slammed because all domestic bottle beers are only a buck.
21 & OverDon't leave home without your ID because as the sign on the door says, "Unless you're over a hundred, you will be carded."
Food ServedThe kitchen's open till midnight every day.

Okay, I've only recently started going here so I haven't experienced the place with the college crowd in town. What I have seen, though, is a great neighborhood bar, not too much atmosphere but a friendly ambiance, with tasty, generously portioned food at reasonable prices. I will recommend the fries, especially with all the extras, but I can't say anything good about the nachos. Lots of televisions, and specials seemingly all the time.
Pros: Better than most.
Cons: Menu needs a little work...
