One of the oldest hamburger restaurants in America, Dirty's is one of the "holy trinity" of Texas burger classics -- the others being Chris Madrid's in San Antonio and Keller's in Dallas. Where is Dirty's in that mix? You'll have to decide for yourself.
Simple, dirty fun. Good and greasy burgers and shakes with whipped cream - casual counter service, big TVs, ample parking / seating. Pretty much heaven.
One of Austin's Legendary Landmarks!.
I just ate at Dirty's for the first time in the last decade. What have I been holding out for? It's easy to enjoy their unique building, atmosphere, cheap prices, and delicious food.
Went last Tuesday and I got 30 cent wings and a $5 pitcher of Fireman's4. Great times. Highly recommended.

We Keep Kumming-Bak!.
I ride with a group called the Central Texas Hill Country HellBuellies and we've been meeting at Dirty's from time to time for years. We used to use it as our every Thursday meeting spot but as our group got bigger and bigger we were causing some issues and so we moved to a place that could better accommodate our group and now we just randomly show up there from time to time.
Last night was one of those random nights when a few of us decided to make the pilgrimage and it was fantastic as usual. The food was good, the beer was cold and the company was outstanding.
Only issue last night was that our server put EVERYONE on one check despite the comings and goings of multiple groups within our group and added in a gratuity. Felt bad for her, b/c this caused her more issues and frustrations than it did us. Hope she didn't get short-changed in the overall, though she said it all worked out in the end.
All in all, Dirty's is a fantastic venue for people like us. Its a great place to see people and be seen. With our bikes parked out front, we'd be hard to miss.
Thank you Dirty's for always being there for us!!
Dry burger, careless staff. Heard good things about Dirty Martin's so I checked it out. I ordered a double hamburger (not having a 1/2 lb burger like most decent Ft. Worth joints). The burger came out as a single, and very dry. The fries were nothing special. Definitely would not go back.
Hamburger Heaven.
Wow! Has a cool "Keep Austin Weird" personality. Old-time place with old-time hamburgers. It seems like a crime to call them simply "burgers." If you like greasy hamburgers, this is the place. Sit at the counter. See the cook prepare your hambuger right in front of you. The hamburger is served with mustard, as all good hamburgers should be, and a good old-fashioned ketchup squeeze bottle always close-by. One bite and I closed my eyes in a heavenly hamburger revery that was interrupted by the guy at the front counter who brought me a milkshake and onion rings. Never mind, I closed my eves and continued my heavenly revery until I finished eating what must be the best hamburger in Austin. If you crave a Rosco's hamburger from El Paso, and there are a few of us out there, Dirty Martin's is every bit as good.
Unless you want grease dripping from your fingers, literally, Do Not order the onion rings. A deliciously greasy Dirty Martin's Hamburger is one thing, but greasy onion rings are disgusting. I have not tried the fries yet. The milkshake presentation is the best and most interesting I've ever seen. The guy at the counter always tosses in a design using whipped cream with a cherry on top. The shake is decent, but I would not order it again. Tomorrow, I plan to go back for the second time this week to order two hamburgers. The hamburgers are not small, I just crave them that much. With a hamburger this good, who needs side orders? I'll just have two hamburgers and a Coke. I'll take a chance and order the fries.
GREAT SERVICE. We went to Dirty's and must say that we were really surprised. The food was great and the Onion Rings were better than any I've ever had, but there was a young man there named Jesse who really made it worth our visit. He made us feel right at home and even though the staff was really busy this young man seemed to go out of his way, not only to make us comfortable, but everyone around us comfortable as well. Our hats off to Dirty's for hiring such excellent help. We will definately be back.
Going back.. The wife and I ate at Dirty's for the first time and were suprised. Plenty of seating, parking was good and the burgers were delicious. We both had the O.T. Special (bacon cheeseburger) and some onion rings. The buns were cooked on the grill, nice and crispy, and the burgers were perfect. Plus the Lone Star was cheap and the misting fans on the patio helped cool the place off. Granted, it was early afternoon on a Saturday, and they were far from slammed, but the service was great and the food was better. Two burgers, a plate of onion rings and 4 Lone Stars for around twenty bucks. A+.
Good food but over priced. Great small cheeseburger! But very pricey, $9 for a cheeseburger more the size of McDonalds cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Better off at Dans or Hut's burgers.
Greasy Burgers!. By far when it comes to greasy burgers, Dirty Martins is the best there is, but I don't think it ranks as the best burger ever. I like the classic atmosphere that would even give a freshman at UT a sense of awe, and some food to remember as well. The burgers (as everyone said) are rather small, so get the double patty. Instead of fries, I got the tots and they were awesome. I recommend anyone from Austin (especially UT) to at least come and check this place out to eat in a place that has some history to it, but the prices just aren't the most agreeable (then again im sure their location is $$$$$ and they gotta cover the rent somehow!). Overall I recommend any on a quest for burgers to check out this place, but keep in mind there are other good burger joints (P Terrys).
