Very cozy. Just like the others are saying..carringtons bluff is cozy, relaxing and they really do think of every last detail. I ordered the breakfast in bed package as a surprise to my hubby and it was awesome. We had a HUGE spread. it was delicious and homemade which is so great!!!!! The bed was super comfy and the porch right off the cottage we were in was nice to just sit on the porch in a rocking chair and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. They also have a book of personal reccomendations of restaurants and we picked a wonderful italian restaurant from it. We wanted to cash in on the ice cream in the freezer but we were too full when we got back!

English country decor meets down-home Texas hospitality.. In Short
This inn is named for the bluff on which it sits, which takes a steep, dramatic drop into Shoal Creek. It is less than 10 blocks from both the State Capitol and the University of Texas campus. The location is convenient, but removed from the bustle of downtown. Cable TV, wireless Internet and salon products are all offered here. Rooms are divided between the Main House and the Writers Cottage.

Perfect escape in the city!. My husband and I recently went here for the first time. When we drove up, the first thing I noticed was the wrap around porch and the little white lights all over the trees in the spacious yard. A gazebo, beautiful benches and plants, the place was an oasis. We were running late to check in, but Phoebe (the owner) had cookies out and showed us around, encouraged us to help outselves to snacks in the kitchen. The place was spotless, but not sterile like some hotels can be. Breakfast includes healthy options as well as made to order home cooked meals. The atmosphere is casual and convivial. My husband and I were celebrating a special vent, and Phoebe went out of her way to include several 'extras' as a surprise! We are from Austin but wanted a spot close to home. We felt like we were miles away at this B & B. Out of towners (one guest from London) can get tips on places to go from the many tourist pamphlets available. Better yet, just ask Phoebe herself. The free wireless access and local calls are great, as the tv/video library (all free). However, you might find you won't need it. Just sitting on the porch at night with a book and listening to the crickets is relaxing. Somehow, the simple becomes exceptional at Carrington's. We plan on going back imminently and we were very sad to leave!

Ps- Don't forget to sign the 'guestbook' journal in your room when you leave. Even if you don't, it is fun to read the comments and stories of the people who stayed there before you.

Better than Home. Carrington's is a wonderful B&B. The place is beautiful and well-kept. Phoebe the owner, is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. Her breakfasts were delicious! The afternoon fresh cookies were great too. We also took advantage of the Blue Bell ice cream and wine in the fridge. The location was superb, close to all we wanted to see. We had a great time and would certainly come back. It was like home away from home but even better!

Excellent. I recently traveled on business and stayed here. The service is wonderful, and the decor is lovely. And most importantly, I could take my dog.

I highly recommned this inn to anybody visiting Austin.

Wonderful B&B!. Carrington's Bluff is perfect in every way - great location, great rooms, great breakfasts and great inkeeper, Phobe Williams. We have celebrated romantic anniversaries (with candles and champagne) and family celebrations (one with a dinner for 30 guests) at this wonderful B&B and have never been disappointed. Phoebe handles everything! We highly recommend Carrington's Bluff.

You'll be spoiled!. This place is amazing: like walking into a friend's home. Very close to area attractions: convention center, capitol, UTexas, imax, but nestled away on a side street so it's calm & relaxing. The rooms are large, warm & inviting. Owner Phoebe is a dream: wondeful cook/baker who takes great pride in running her place. At check in there were homemade cookies waiting for us & a fridge filled with snacks including microwave popcorn & 6 different flavors of ice cream. Breakfast was heaven! What a great romantic getaway.

Ammenities, ammenities. Terrific place. Everything as pictured and lots more. All details thought of down to the Q-Tips, cotton balls, and bubble bath in the rooms. Add to that the wine, ice cream, and constant cookies and you've got my attention. Then there's the breakfast!! Fantastic. Love to go back.
