dirty dirty dirty... and unprofessional. This salon was recommended to me by a friend and I was sooooo disappointed. I walked in and sat on the dog hair covered couch. Yes there was a dog in the salon. I didn't really have a problem with it but it seemed strange that a animal that would be prone to attracting fleas was being kept in a salon. There was only one other client in the salon but the floor was covered in other people’s hair! After a short wait my stylist came out from the back reeking of cigarettes. Again I did not have a problem until she ran her smoky smelling hands through my hands with out washing them! While washing my hair she stopped several times to stick her fingers in her mouth, attempting to remove a lodged Jolly Rancher, and then continued washing. During the haircut she stopped several times to read and send text messages. She also said b**** and f***about 20 times while complaining to me about her previous client. After the cut my hair looked exactly the same. I was even greeted by my boss the next day who said, "I thought you were going to get a hair cut.” The whole time I was there I kept thinking that this salon was the perfect location for Tabatha's salon take over.…

GREAT salon!. I love this salon. I've lived in Austin for about 4 years. The first year I had a hard time finding a stylist I liked. Then a friend referred me to Zig Zag, and I've been going there ever since. I'm constantly referring friends.

I go to Jessica, who is a lot of fun and has given me great haircuts. I've always had long straight hair. The last time I went in, she used a new technique she learned at a Vegas hair show to take off some of the weight. and Voila - I had naturally hot beach waves. She discovered I had CURLY HAIR! It was hilarious, and I love the cute.

Also - they give you wine, which I love to have while I'm getting a haircut. This place is really relaxed. If you prefer a really quiet, tranquil snooty sort of spa hair salon, this place isn't for you. It can get loud and is so much fun. It's like hanging out with all of your best girl friends while you get your hair cut.…

WONDERFUL people and services!. I have been going to Freida at Zig Zag for overa year now. She has cut and colored my hair, plus did my wedding and recommended a wonderful make-up artist for my wedding also. Zig Zag is amazing! Going there is so much fun. The staff is amazingly nice and welcoming. Freida is always willing to discuss ideas, problems, worries, etc. in detail with me before doing my hair. She has been the greatest person I've had work on my hair. My husband uses Lauren (Lola) who is awesome too, and my sis-in-law uses Mel and her hair looks fantastic. Bottom line: Zig Zag staff is the best!…

If you want to absolutely love your hair.... Go to Melody at Zig Zag salon. She has been my hairstylist for almost 4 years now and I am always completely satisfied with the results. I like to switch up my hairstyle often and no matter what I ask for, she always does it perfectly. She does great highlights and is very precise with her cuts. I recommended her to a couple friends of mine and they have been going to her ever since. The staff is very friendly and make you feel right at home. I definitely recommend this salon and Mel is the best!!…
