Trendy, Funky, without the Attitude.. Rick's is a cool little place right across from the UT campus, almost a hole-in-the-wall. There is a cheap looking sign out front usually advertising some sort of color/cut special, and although the inside always looks like they're in some phase of remodeling, the quality of the service is anything but cheap! The sylists are super talented, and give edgy cuts, but the atmosphere is not at all snooty like some of the salons on Congress or near 6th street. They take walk-in's or appointments, and I think I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $75 for a layered cut, highlights, AND lowlights! --It was one of those Rick specials!!! Def. worth a try!!

Why go to a snooty salon ?. Austin Monthly voted them best for students, and they were right. I was tired of snooty salons with pushy sales people, they have free parking and the lowest prices on aveda in town.

Great price, great cut. Located right by UT, this is the perfect place to get a haircut especially if you live in that area.
