I had lost my hearing in my right ear, and needed it fixed to stay in my Naval Program. I came home for the procedure and was sent to him in Austin. He did a hearing test and came to the conclusion I needed a Stapedectomy, which is putting a little prosthesis stapes bone in place of the existing one in my ear. I would spend over an hour everytime waiting for my appointment for him to spend 10 minutes with me and come to a conclusion i needed a ridiculous costly procedure to fix my hearing.. Well I decided to do it.. He failed. My hearing actually declined afterwards, and my Naval career was then over. To my disbelief I was charged over $2,000 for "Surgical Technique"! Are you kidding me? I fully understand the anesthetist charges and others.. This one though I could not believe he would even have the audacity to charge me with. He knew he just ruined my career, and had absolutely no remorse. If I were to see him today, he wouldnt even remember my face or how he forever changed my life. My admit date 5/11/11. Thanks doc..

The front desk is extremely rude. The audiologist was super nice. Everyone else just herds you through like cattle and if you have a question about a test, etc., don't think they will answer it over the phone. You will need to go in and pay them again if you want to hear the results of the tests from your first visit.

ear control. I went to see patrick slater almost two years ago for severe menears. I am a hunting guide and guns and clients have hurt my hearing and I have constant ringing in my ears. i would have attacks that would knock me out with sweating vertigo and vomiting the last bout was almost every day for two months i was refered to patrick and after about three or four visits for deep injections in my ears i no longer have the attacks in my world i cannot be out of action this was a life changer for me and i highly reccomend Austin Ear Clinic

This is the place to go if you have any ear problems!. I went to see Dr. Slater about some ear problems I had been having. Other ENTs did not recommend allergy testing and treatment only temporary fixes. I was able to be allergy tested at their office and have undergone allergy injections and it has greatly improved my stopped up ears! Dr. Slater is extremely down to earth and knowledgeable, and the back office staff is great! They are very proficient at what they do there, they may run a little late sometimes but I know that I took up more of his time with all my problems so I see how this can happen...... highly recommended! I was referred by someone that had a more serious ear condition that other ENTs do not handle, so I thought I would try him out since he is the most highly trained with ears in Austin.
