Who looks forward to OBGYN appointments? I do!

Dr. Akin and his nurse, Judy, are the best! I cannot agree more w/ the other positive reviews on this site. I first started seeing Dr. Akin when I was pregnant with my first kid about a year ago.

For starters, I really did not ever have to wait a very long time. I think there were maybe two times with all my visits where I was not seen within 15 minutes of my appointment times, so I do not think that wait time is a con.

Secondly, Akin and Judy make you feel as though you are the ONLY patient they are seeing. One time, we had to wait a little longer than normal, and Judy offered us some food that they had leftover from lunch. Like we were family!

Dr. Akin is truly an expert. He shared a lot of knowledge with us... like he could tell which side I ovulated from and always gave extremely detailed explanations for why he does things the way he does them, etc. He is very thorough. And for a knowledge junkie like me, that was extremely important and fun!

If you are pregnant, you may get to have more sonograms than you might w/ other practices because they have a machine right there in the office. Exciting? Yes!

Although I know they are very busy, never have I felt like they were trying to hurry up my appointments at all!

And I have to add that the whole staff is excellent - Cherie and his Nurse Practioner are also very attentive, encouraging and thorough in their care.

Before Akin, I had seen 2 different OBGYNs and they were awkward and boring at best. I'll never go back!

I never thought I'd say this, but... I can't wait to get pregnant again!

Excellent Doctor

I have been seeing Dr. Akin for about 6 years for routine gyn issues. My husband and I battled with infertility and thought I should see a "fertility specialist ". After many failed visits with other docs, I went back to Dr. Akin and he found out what my issue was and now i'm expecting a healthy baby boy in the next few weeks. He's so compassionate, calm, and I really enjoy going to the visits because of him and his awesome nurse Judy! I trust him totally! My husband and I are so thankful that we have him to deliver our baby. I have recommended him to all my friends and family.

Helped with infertility

I was told by several doctors that I could not have children without IVF. Dr. Akin was honest and told me that I only had a 20% chance that the tubal repair surgery would work. Dr. Akin was able to repair my fallopian tube. I now have a beautiful little boy, and am expecting another child(both conceived naturally.) I am not saying Dr. Akin can help all women with infertility, but he helped me.

The BEST OB/GYN!!!

Dr. Akin and his nurses are the greatest. I actually look forward to going to the doctor. I have been a patient for the last 10 years. He has delivered 2 of my children and I couldn't have asked for better care. He is always calm and caring and you never question any thing he recommends. He's just right on. I would recommend him to anyone, those in childbearing years or in menopause stage.

I can't ask for anyone better

I have never wrote a review of my own, always read them but then never felt a need to response. I have read all reviews and feel the exact same way as all of the positive reviews. I find it funny the two reviews not recommending him, had issues with either billing or lab work. It you weren't paying attention Dr. Akin takes care of medical issues not lab work or your billing for services, maybe before complaining about services he does not offer; step back and talk with the lab tech and get some better insurance.

I have been going to Dr. Akin since 2002 and have not had any problems, he delivered my 9lb 4 oz baby boy and haven;t had any complications. Regardless of the bad experience others have I will never go to another Dr. until he retires.
