Dr. Yium is great

She delivered my daughter & I thought she was wonderful. I was 40 and this was my first baby. Everything went fine throughout the entire pregnancy. Her Nurse was always very available to me when I called to answer any questions I had. It was also a nice bonus for me that Dr. Yium was pregnant at the same time. She could really relate to what I was going through & was probably all the more sympathetic. She ended up inducing labor a couple of days before my due date because the baby's heartrate kept slowing down then going back up. (Found out umbilical cord was around baby's neck.) I was given an epidural as soon as I asked for it (2.5 cm) causing me to relax so much that I was immediately ready to try pushing. Because of the slow fetal heartbeat they took me to the OR just in case they needed to a C-section and I could tell that there was a sense of urgency but they all remained comforting & all went well. I felt very fortunate to have Dr. Yium as my OB. I am sorry that another poster had an unpleasant office visit. When it really counted I felt I had a great doctor looking after me and my baby.

• Pros: Easy to get to, relaxed atmosphere, friendly
• Cons: Seton Med. Ctr is an older hospital. Would prefer to use different facility

Awesome Doctor

Dr. Swenson is so kind and compassionate. She delivered my now 5 year old and cared for me through one miscarriage and one false pregnancy. She's amazing, and I would never go to anyone else!!

Not very nice!

I had an appointment to see Vanessa Yuim to resolve a problem that has been bothering me four five months. What a waste of time, she didn't even seem to care about the pain I am in. She just told me what all the other doctors told me that she didn't know what could be wrong. I also didn't like what I heard while waiting in the exam room, I had been waiting for a little over 30 mins. when the nurse walked in and said "oh I'm sorry" and walked out. Then I heard the nurse say "there is a lady waiting in this room for you" then the doctor said "Well she is going to have to wait" I am not going back!!
