As a current highschooler at Kirby Hall School I strongly object to the acusations of improper activities specifically to the "Senior Lounge". With an incredibly difficult and rigorous curriculum it is not uncommon, and one could argue necessary, for highschoolers to study independently. I have attended other highschools and chose to return to the narcotic free and academically focused environment of Kirby Hall. Our highschool is small but people mainly leave to play sports or because the curriculum is too rigorous. As for our seniors they have been important role models to all underclassmen. In regards to the teachers and administration they simply stand above the norm. The small environment assures strong teacher student relations. The academic success of Kirby Hall speaks for itself (sat scores, Ivy league admissions, academic competitions, AP classes and exams, ect.) Personally I have benifited from the school, teacher recomendations, and strong core classes which resutled in admmision to a summer study program at Cambridge. If you want a highschool where you can be yourself, be safe, and be encouraged to make right choices in a callaborative family like environment then Kirby Hall is the right place.

I have been a parent at Kirby Hall for over 16 years and I also am the Administrative Assistant. I have a daughter who graduated from Kirby Hall and is now a senior at the U.T. and I have another daughter in entering the 10th grade here. Those who wrote that Kirby Hall has unqualified teachers, poor curriculum, unsupervised students and an outdated math program are talking about a school that they have obviously created in their heads out of some kind of anger. Our teachers are highly qualified, our students are successful and very academically able. As for our academics (including math!), we have come first in both district and state PSIA competitions for the past 8 years. If you walk through our school you will see happy, self-confident students and very knowledgeable and caring faculty members. To slur such a wonderful school and faculty is outrageous. If anyone is reading this and wants a highly academic and caring school, please do not let these untrue postings stop you. Check it out for yourselves. A wonderful school, hence a wonderful administration.
Pros: Excellent curriculum, outstanding faculty.
Cons: None!
