Ripped off

by ranj at Citysearch

Ripped off by the store...we got our living room set 2 years back from the store along with the 5 year warranty plan. Now the leather in my 2 seater is ripping off and the warranty company (Montage services) said they cannot fix this - the problem is because of "AGING" (?). After several calls, a technician from Ashley came and he said the rip is because of our BODY HEAT and if we pay $400, Ashley can fix it for us... Is there a better way to get cheated...DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY...SAVE YOUR MONEY...

Worst customer experience by far

by poorashelyservice at Citysearch

Really poor service. Furniture ordered didn't arrive in time and there was no communication from the store about thedelay. Reaching customer service was painful and spent more than 20 mins on hold...

We ordered 4 pieces of furniture and it has taken a month to get only 2 pieces the rest two will take another couple of weeks...Dont expect the furniture to arrive at time

Great experience, product and customer service!

by johnbarksdale at Citysearch

I have not shopped for furniture in a long time, but several friends at work suggested Ashley as they had bought there and said that they liked it. I went in about a week ago and saw a few things that I liked, but I wanted to look at other places first. Star was overpriced and the salesman at Rooms to go was too pushy, so I went back to Ashley. My salesperson, Jim, remembered my name which was impressive. We narrowed down my choices to 2 sofa groups. Jim introduced me to the store manager and after chatting about everything besides furniture, he and Jim helped me decide on a good group for me. You don't find this kind of service many places. I was very impressed. I wanted to tell everyone my story because it seems that all everyone on here writes is a bad experience. The people that have a good experience just keep quiet. Well....not me. I appreciate it when a business hires good people and they give me good service. I had a few issues with delivery, but the store took care of me....THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS FOLKS. Issues come up....but good people take care of their customers. Thanks Ashley...I'll definitely shop there again.

OK Furniture - Crappy Delivery Service

by Siam Samlor at Citysearch

Wife and I visited this location and didn't experience the usual salesman hovering over us as we were dressed quite casually and I was unshaven. Probably figured we were just lookers and that attitude did not bother me. When we did find something we liked we searched for a salesman and found 3 standing around and one was willing to help us though there wasn't much interest until we said we were going to buy. Again, not a problem. When we asked how much the delivery fee was he checked the computer and came up with $59 which was for the "white glove" experience. Overall the buying experience was ok. On delivery day, we initially were told 24 hrs earlier on telephone confirmation that delivery would occur between 2:30 -5:30 pm. On the day of delivery, Chris called and stated that they had many delivery cancellations and could they come by between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. I said sure and adjusted my time for accomplishing some chores. Delivery people showed up at 1:20 pm again not a biggie. The reason for the 1 star is that at the time of delivery it was raining quite hard and they brought the sofa out of the truck without any cover over it. When they put it in the living room they didn't even put it in the location requested and got quite upset when I asked them to move it to where I wanted it. Also, when I asked them to wipe the rain water off the sofa (faux leather) they refused. If this was "white glove"delivery I would hate to see "non-white glove delivery". I would probably have to carry the sofa off the truck. Doubt I will be back again as furniture prices are not so good that they overcome poor delivery/customer service. Other furniture store prices are about the same or better with sales.

Don't Believe anything they say!

by sad sad sad at Citysearch

Found what we wanted... no problem... ordered it and paid... no problem... but when the delivery guys ran out of the house like a couple of jumping beans... took a closer look at the product, and noted that a glass window was installed incorrectly (partially hanging out)... there is absolutely no customer service... call the service number and sit on hold for over a half of an hour... told they will call you back (They won't) call the store... they will tell you they can't help you... go to the store and they will act like they are helping you until you actually leave... was told they would make sure someone from service calls you and will call you themselves in 2 hours (They won't) They tell you that you can send an item back within 14 days of delivery... It's been 2 days, and I can't get a hold of anyone to arrange a pick up... I am contemplating bringing the items to the store where I purchased them. I will be the guy standing outside of this store holding the sign that states BUYER BEWARE! I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER EVER BEING TREATED SO CRAPPY FROM A STORE! It is almost like they think that they are government employees who you are forced to buy from. Take my advice and stay away from this substandard company.
