Editorial Review for Water Tank Bar and Grill – by Brandon Reynolds
In Short
The Water Tank is almost on the frontier of Austin, out on McNeil Drive. Almost all the food is fried. The onion rings are as crispy as donuts and there are omelets on the weekend. People sing songs when the karaoke fills the bar Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The other four days boast an assortment of bands. The cast of characters attending such evenings include college students, bikers, dot-commers and seniors.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasOn karaoke nights, count on seeing some of the finest shower-singers in Austin at their best. Perhaps as entertaining is to listen for some of Austin's worst singers, also on hand.

Sunday and Monday's they have an open mike which can't be beat. I haven't met the questionable characters that the other review writers described but I bring various band made of high school students from time to time and they love playing on the real stage to the manageable crowd. I love their burgers and steaks and I hope they keep it up. Peace Joe
Pros: Parking in back, Attractive and sweet service, Awesome open mike.

Good place to eat and use the internet during the day. Pool is great and the kareoke is fun. Avoid the regulars - rather skanky.
Pros: Down home ambiance.
Cons: Low life's it attracts.
